http://www.nowtv.com/ these things? All depends how good your internet connection is I guess |

biggest rip off ever you mean those. 9.99 for the box...then if you want to watch sky its 9.99 per DAY. works out at around 300 quid a month! its ok them saying ahh but you can pick and choose...but even if you only pay for 4 days in a month thats 40 quid. for just 4 days. dunno how theyve got the bloody cheek. no idea if you can get other stuff like bbc iplayer etc without paying anything to sky, if you can it may be worth it if you never pay for the now tv bollocks.

if you dont mean those then ive got no idea.
if you do mean those then its 9.99 a day for sky sports, so ridiculous price. but only 8.99 a month for movies, which aint bad tbh, and an introductory offer of 4.99 (it doesnt say how much it will be after that time, or even how long the introductory is) for 10 entertainment channels. sky 1, disney, mtv, gold and the rest) plus not all shows are available. some shows they dont have rights to show over the internet. no idea which ones. it sounds as though bbc iplayer, 5 on demand (zzz) and a few other pointless things like facebook are free without paying sky anything. though it does say you do need to sign up to either a monthly pass, a day sports pass, or a 30 month trial, to get the box activated. id imagine the standard is the same as sky go, which i have. pretty ropey but just about watchable. with the odd pause for buffering. |

I think he means the dreamboxes

No guys, I don`t mean them. Mate down the road has one. Small black rectangular box, 5" x 3" which connects to your tv by usb cable and streams sky via your wi-fi. Good picture quality when he showed me how it worked. One off payment. Don`t know what you call them.
By:
Bhoys, I think you are right - dreambox.
By:
its droid tv by sounds of it...they are "ok"...thats it...picture quality varies greatly, streams go down regularly but theres so many to choose from it dont take long to find another one,i couldnt be 4rsed with the hassle tbh but my mate has one and hes quite happy with it
By:

You can only get BBCi player on most of them, I use my Xbox 360 to get BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5 (if I ever felt the need) as well as Youtube and Netflix through my telly.
The Youview box has them all but it's 200 quid. |
By:
ive just came across these , they are like dreambox but instead if connecting to your sky dish you connect to internet
ive enquired about a few , only £80 for a cheap one and you get all sports channels etc , and channels from around the world , i would say to good to be true but dreamboxes proved it can be done. |
By:
look up XBMC on youtube...
It's free, all sports (incl all sky sports channels, RUK, ATR etc. etc..), although I timed the BBC channel is around 10 secs behind 'live tv, ATR and RUK the same? and hundreds of channels from around the world. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dddkIicYOLk Link your pc/laptop to a tv and it's great. I know some people who have bought an android box for 80 quid, and paid an extra 50 to have this program loaded, but it's easy to do, must be, 'cos I did it! |
By:
johnizere i got quoted £80 and he said he can show me how it works etc , so im going to get that , was thinking of a dreambox , then i was going to get sky again for £80 a month , then i seen these £80 one for fee , ill take that thanks.
If i buy this android box unlocked i wont need to use laptop also will i? do i just connect box to internet and tv ad start streaming |

Check out Mobdro.com on your Android phone (not available on the play store)
You can the "Cast" the pictures on that site to a Chromecast (costs around £18). Not hard to set up but remember you are getting the same streams as you'd find online and quality drops when it's on the big TV. An XBox 360 and PS3 can also act as media streamers via Plex. |
By:
Chaser, no you won't need a laptop. The droid box sits near your tv like the skybox or whatever.
The feed comes off your broadband router, cable or wifi. Some say it's better with a lan cable connection, but I don't know. |
By:
cheers for reply , the guy said it comes with a lot installed apps etc , tbh i dont care about all this memory and apps etc , as long as i get the sports im ok with tat but it seems like it comes with a sh1t load of stuff on it , 80 quid cant go wrong , hopefully have it by saturday.
whats the quality like on the streams johnny |

this box is just streams of the internet and lets be honest how many streams is there , one goes down 10 go up they can never stop it completely |
By:
h does spiderbox work , via the internet or connect to sky dish?
By:
just saves me having to search for best streams if i get this bix and at £80 its a snip , the boy stays in glasgow akabula if your interested lol
By:
It plugs into the dish but also runs through the broadband router mate. You deffo need a dish. The picture is far better than a stream for that reason I guess. It's all a bit beyond me but It relies on the person running the server.
I've actually had the box for around 3 years but the first fella stopped doing it so I had to pay someone else. |

Reminds me of the story of one of the girls I worked with.
Bought a box in the pub for £100 that would allow free phone calls. She thought it the solution to her getting large bills from being on chat rooms. You plugged the box into the phone socket and then the phone into the box. "Don't use it all the time" the guy told her "Or BT will get suspicious". So she only used it for the chat rooms but staying on much loner than usual. She was in her glory until a bill for nearly £2k popped through her letter box. All the box was was an extension ![]() |
By:
You would never know it was a stream by the picture but it sticks momentarily from time to time. I just prefer that to £100 per month .
By:
As long as she got plenty of cokk action on chat rooms I guess she got her doughs worth.

I doubt that. |
By:
chat rooms are old school that must have may a long time ago , or do people still use them
hitman i have a dish so that would be ideal for me , i was going to get sky back in but £80 a month and you dont even get bt sports , with this streaming box im sure ill get games all over the world not just english p1sh |
By:
plus should get all the boxing
By:
Was a while ago chaser, probably more than 10 years ago.
BTW it was bought in an Edinburgh pub, so beware. |
By:
In the early 70s I bought a state of the art radio that was made in Russia. The best radio I ever owned, way before it`s time. You could listen to most radio stations anywhere in the world. Reception was best in Winter and if you opened the window a little, you got Chile.

You can get all sorts if you can be **** to tune it in. I just stick to sky and bt but yes you can get boxing in demand.
