I have a water-dispenser for birds.  I have never seen a bird drink from it.
My roof is covered with pigeons waiting for food.  They have trained me to put out seed on demand (coo coo coo).
Report Slicer July 16, 2013 1:39 PM BST
The birds don't drink from the diuspenser because there claws are too small to put the coin in!

I hope this is of assistance!

Hedgehogs are dying due to a lack of water. Use a shallow tray/saucer and help save them.

Good advice and certainly not milk.

Time to repeat my advice.

I know some on here can't grasp the concept of predators but hedgehogs are dying due to an excess of badgers!!!!   Putting water or milk out is good though.
Report kenny mann July 2, 2018 12:04 AM BST
Not milk,  as it can cause diarrhoea for hedgehogs and cats are lactose intollerant.

A stray cat has appeared in my garden at night. It was frightened at first but after 6 weeks of patience and feeding from distance, I have built up some trust with it and it comes right up to me now and eats out of my hand. It was very thin and hungry but it looks a lot healthier now.
Report kenny mann July 2, 2018 12:16 AM BST
Ah, well dome mate. Are you going to keep it? Would be great company for the Captain. I'm assuming he lives with you.

Cat needs checking for micro-chip.

Had a large saucer of water out for the birds for a couple of weeks now, attracts
A few pidgeons, jackdaws, and blackbirds.some just have a drink whilst others will jump straight in for a flap about. !!

I was feeding my hanging baskets, from a watering can, and the flow suddenly stopped!

Took off the rose and something was poking out of the nozzle.....

Pulled and pulled and thought it would never stop!

It was a starling fledgling, that had been extruded to probably twice it's normal length......Cry
