I went to a rock festival at Shepton Mallet in 1970

I was there Headline act :- Led Zep...also Canned Heat Steppenwolf Pink Floyd Johnny Winter Fairport Convention Jefferson Airplane Frank Zapper Moody Blues Byrds Santana Country Joe continuity by John Peel and Mike Raven Week end Ticket 50/- (Thats 50 shillings or £2 10 shillings or £2.50 ) That's what I call a band line up. It was amazing.Sat in the field for 2 days(slept in the car overnight).Sex drugs and rock and roll. Such good times |

I took acid at that festival and I have to admit I have no memory of Steppenwolf or Canned Heat who were one of my favourite bands. I remember seeing them at Brighton but not at Shepton. Floyd I hated anyway following a long history with them.led Zep I remember well as the sun went down they cranked it up and played a superb set. A jazz band led by Maynard Ferguson who played early afternoon sticks in my swirling mind. They made me sick.
