There's an epidemic of them at Lightwater Valley. If i'd counted them it would be in the hundreds. And I got stung by one of the buggers

Just one more today, whilst I was talking to the couple who keep two horses in my paddock.
Unfortunately for the lone wasp my "executioner" was to hand! I haven't been to "Lightwater Valley" for an eternity but I do recall that they were always a problem there! |

today marked the return of 100's of wasps at the bush at the end of my garden.
They were there last summer, flying around the bush in 20's. They disappeared in the winter, and hadnt been seen since. Wonder why they just appeared now. Obviously a nest of them in the bush i reckon. |

First wasp seen yesterday, aparently their is an epidemic of them in some parts of the UK

A wasp spotted on my staircase about half an hour ago, bold as brass just sitting there as if to say 'well what you gunna do about it?'
I could have crushed the bugger but I didn't. |

Another pleasant lunch, al fresco, yesterday.
Gazpacho, with a bowl of garlic croutons, and a couple of glasses of Chardonnay. My electronic zapper was at the ready, but only one bug in site being a fly, which didn't want to play! Loads of "Flutterbys" now, with the "Red Admirals" looking especially good on the "Buddleia" bushes. |

Just an update, I had an epidemic of one wasp, that was enjoying itself in my bottle and can re-cycling box. I think it was hammered! Count is now fourteen only. |

5cm long, a 6mm stinger and it spits flesh-eating poison, no, I'm not talking about my €ock but the Asian Giant Hornet, it's killed dozens and injured hundreds and it wants your pint...

Well they will be welcome here no doubt!
Just as were the "Red Back" venomous spiders, somewhere in the south, and an immigrant "Huntsman" from Australia that was taken to the vet and then released! Come on please, let's have all the Scorpions, Alligators, Snakes, Crocodiles, Spiders, Romanians and assorted low life here. There is plenty of room left! |

Ok, here we are in Octobuary and still on count of 14!
Unless we have some phantom warm weather, I think that will be it for this year! Shame about the Ladybirds, who didn't put in a show at all! |

Just bringing this up again as I have a feeling we could have massive numbers of the bad attitude b@st@rds this year.
The winter was so mild that I doubt many were killed off, and my son had the first BBQ yesterday, and was under siege, and we are only half way through April. |

I had a massive bumblebee in the garden this morning, it was literally the size of a squash ball. I haven't sighted anything else this year apart from a couple of spiders that have decided to move into the kitchen.

Just had my first encounter with them this year..
The littles buggers love our shed and nested their two years ago and attempted to take it over again last year but we spotted them early and I got the brother in law to kill them before they became a problem. However, already got half a dozen or so knocking around in my garden close to the shed and I fear the worse. I want to cut the grass but I'm far to scared to attempt to get into the shed at present. |

I am a little worried Aunty that the the South-East corner could experience a severe drought this summer. We didn't have the rain that some parts of the UK had over the winter, although we had plenty, and we've barely had any for the last month to six weeks.
I've been out this morning walking my dog, and the fields are as hard as rock already with apparently at least a couple of weeks of dry weather to come. |

I had another big bee at lunchtime, this time it paid a flying visit in the kitchen. It could well be the same one from yesterday but I'm not certain about that. I'll tag him next time.

Last year's count was 14 for the whole year.
Only April and I've seen six already, of which two were in the house. When we hit twenty I will suspend the count, as I think it will be a bad year! |

i fear there going to be some type of bugs invasion this year due to mild winter
etc Ladybirds,wasps,bees,spiders,mosquitoes,Sand fly,ants,termites some of those bugs can grow more powerful and in size to become super colonies some are from usa and mainland europe and can be a danger |

A butterfly was in the garden this morning, I haven't seen a ladybird this year thus far. I've still got the two spiders, they are plotted up by the dishwasher doing spiderman stuff, I'll leave them be.

A bit late, sorry but just to put it to bed the final wasp count was circa 14
Ladybirds.....0 Aphids, incredibly conspicuous by their absence, seeing as there was nothing to eat them! Red Admirals.......0 Cabbage Whites...... less than usual Ants......too flipping many for comfort Dragon flies,,,,,a rare sight but had 2 doing an air display |
