William Wallace (Mel Gibson)
Rob Roy (Liam Neeson)
Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell)
Robin Hood (Kevin Costner)
Genghis Khan (John Wayne ffs) Laugh

for starters...

What about William Tell?

Apart from one film in 1987 starring nobody you have heard of, what's wrong with a big star playing him on film?

SF,
Famous actors playing famous people, are some of the worst films I've ever seen. The list you mentioned were chronic, but not as bad as Colin Farrell with blonde ill fitting wig, dark eyebrows/stubble & an Irish accent playing Alexander the Great - that was the worst portrayal of anyone, even fictional, I've ever seen.

By far the best, Welsh actor Martin Sheen, -  Brian Clough, David Frost (Pres Nixon Interview) & Caligula etc.

I did of course mean Michael Sheen!

He sure cleaned up in those roles Silly

Sid James as Mark Antony (Marcus Antonius) another great performance.

Colin Farrell's,  Alexander the Great:-

“Wacha mean we can't?  Sure listen ....when da clock strikes tree tirty tree & tirteen seconds were goin' ta invade Persia - ya eejits!”

I watched The Kings Speech last week.

Fantastic film. The actor who played his therapist was brilliant.

Thanks, Rick. A wonderful actor.

I'd like to read the book about King George's speech therapist.
