not that she actually make the decisions on what happened and to whom - a fact many seem to miss - but i suppose keeping alive hopelessly failing industries at the expense of the long suffering taxpayer would have been a better option ,eh ? even the labour party knew exactly what needed to be done but the likes of jim callahan wouldn't go to war with the people who made him what he was.

as someone has previously said , she dragged this country into the here and now.

Thatcher is a lesson to everyone - get enough sleep. 5 hours a night will eventually send you mental.

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." - Penn & Teller

Are we to understand that the tens of thousands flung on the dole were not taxpayers? You'll no doubt be a fan of benefit cuts for Maggie's descamisados as well. Moreover, would you have us believe that subsidised industry was unique to this country?

Regardless of personal views on Thatcher i do love a Maggie thread simply for the head spinning rage it sends the lefties into..great stuff.

^^ A fack up on the left-right front.

I don't like Thatcher, and I'm supposed to be right wing.

Perhaps the day will eventually come when people actually agree what the differences between left and right wing are.

Forget the Unions (the details of which has been mostly spin).
She sold everything off, ruined the NHS, utilised an unnecessary war, did dodgy arms deals whereby her son copped millions in commission.
The list is very very long, and there's nothing much good on it.

The stuff about only 5 hours sleep a night was bullplop too, she used to have a kip in the afternoons.

Perhaps horseman will come back and let me know, or anybody else can try if they like.

Whether you think you're  right or left, list 6 things that you agree with, or 6 that you don't, and state what you THINK you are, left wing or right wing.

great great lady, did what was NEEDED, smashed the scum unions, smashed the argies, dragged britain into the modern era, gave working people the ability financially and aspiration-ally to own 'THEIR' own homes, truly an iron lady.

most working people now own 1 or 2 properties, the vast majority of working people can now expect an inheritance of property or a share of one.
thats something your grand-parents could only dream about, before dying in their council flats

yes..that is the problem...look at the fecking mess we are in nowSad

tbf she did well coming from greengrocers daughter to be prime minister
but like others, I could never agree with her politics..although how much was she used by the public school lot behind herConfused
still we are a civilised country...or supposed to be....so we should tolerate opposing views
I would not rejoice in her death...she will get a r.i.p. from me if/when she does go
it is  what we British do

santas cancelled, due to buses being on strike, i kid you not, europes highest paid bus drivers are striking because they object to the out-dated work practice of being paid for their lunch hour, 38k for 40 hours a week, nearly 50k some were pulling  with over-time.

fcuking unions, out-dated scum, a contract of employment is all thats needed, and easy cheap abitration.
By:

By:

When: 22 Dec 12 22:24
I'd work my lunch break for 38k for a 40 hour week.

Then have 51 weeks off.

forgot to mention, its 'natonal' transport, only the tax payer footing the 8 million a year shortfall, fcuk the bus drivers, fcuk all government unions, bleeding 'US' the tax payer dry

If I had any say in it I would still be working....
unfortunately control of my life was taken away from me a long time ago
not because I was a criminal...but because my behaviour was deemed unacceptable to others
