Nocash, well done for picking up on that one! I've been taking them for years and never noticed! I could chuck in another two that I can request when needed but they don't fit in with the every day requirement of the thread. Just glad I don't have to pay for them! |

None on a daily basis, I get sinusitis two or three times a year and take something for that. I forget what it is called but that is it. Luckily enough I never feel unwell as a rule.

Please can people not come on here bragging about good health!
 As it happens (JS quote) I too never felt unwell very much, and hadn't been to a doctor in almost twenty years. That was until my Brother in Law **** me up to his blood pressure gadget and I was almost off the scale. Ever since it's been constant taking of pills, going for blood tests and reviews. I have to wonder what would have happened if, I never had found out about it! Would I still be here or a gonner? |

 Just to make you feel a bit better I had a dose of gout in February, I forgot about that. Jesus H Christ that was very painful. Not in the big toe where it normally hits but in my ankle, I was absolutely crippled. |

Peripheral Neuropathy, as the name suggests, starts at the end of the longest nerves which are to the feet.
They send confused signals to the brain of numbness (think how it feels to have worn shoes that were too tight) Then the same numbness can also be painful. My toes are effectively "dead". I can prick with a sterilised needle and feel nothing. Some times it affects my gait (no five bar jokes please) and doesn't help when driving. Also people don't realise how much you use your toes for balance. At worst it extends to my ankles where it is very painful and even to my shins. I wouldn't wish it on any decent person. The worrying thing is, that people who nave taken Statins, complain of this being a side effect of the drug. |

Haven't told you the good news!
Some may have heard me talk about my "Happy Pills". As it happens (JS quote) "Amitrptylene" is also prescribed for people with depression as it acts on the same area of the brain. I am deliriously happy as I take two per day. |

citalopram which is an anti-depressant and Zydol which is an opium based drug that kills (or supposed to) feelings in the nerves

My missus is taking citalopram atm. It's doing the job but she doesn't get on too well with the side effects

Ciprofloxacin (Ciproxin) twice daily, and have been taking it for the last 8 years or so. For those that say you shouldn't be permanently on antibiotics, well, my consultant seems quite relaxed about it all
  . Apparently the longer you are on Cipro, and the older you get, the more susceptible you are to achilles tendon ruptures. So that's something to look forward to I guess! |

Simvastatin - Cholesterol
Metformin - Diabetes Omeprazole - Acid Reflux (small)Aspirin - advised by Dr Indometacin - When I get Gout Quinine Sulphate - Night cramp Started and stopped amitryptilene for an unexplained neuropathy problem which also involved MRSI scans and a lumbar puncture. Only 15mg which is a tiny dose, but when I stopped after just 3 weeks, I didn't sleep at all for over 3 days - it was horrible. Loads of different creams and ointments for Psoriasis. Co-codamol (sometimes Diazapem)- Bit of a disc slippage in my neck causing arm pain/tingling/numbness, coupled with frequent visits to an Osteopath. All the above, when I remember/can be bothered. Fecking huck, I'm a mess. (Yet still somehow surprisingly lovely). |

on reduction cycle now - was on 12 x 5mg side effects brutal on such a high dose. |
