Tonight, a clip featuring my favourite guitarist....Andy Latimer, from the band Camel.

Here live excerpts from The Snow Goose.

Latimer seems to wring more emotion out of his guiotar than most others I know.

Poseidon's Creation - Eloy

I agree that the last four minutes is the best part but the song as a whole was only average. 4/10

Bright Ambassadors of Morning - Pure Reason Revolution

From their excellent debut album, which in my opinion they have yet to surpass with their subsequent releases.

Bright Ambassadors

I quite enjoyed that. The first part before the vocals come in was a bit like 90s trip hop group The Aloof. The second part was back to the expected prog rock and the third part was leaning towards heavy rock. My main criticism was the repetition of the song title over and over again. A decent effort 7/10.

The Hazards of Love 4 The Drowned - The Decemberists

One of the few tracks that can bring me close to tears, but you need to hear it in the context of the rest of the magnificent album, as it's the final sad finale!

I have it down as being very close to my top album of that year. The album tells a story, the more you listen to it, the more the story becomes apparent, and the more enjoyment you derive from the experience.

Ricordi del Supplizio - Il Bacio Della Medusa

One of the best albums to come out of Italy for many a year!

Just a thought. I'm presenting individual tracks here. With the nature of the music I like, often the tracks can be 'growers' and by this I mean they may not instantly grab you, but when you've heard them a few (sometimes many) times, and listen to them in the context of the album, then you can appreciate them much more.

Of course I also appreciate that people can have wildly differing tastes when it comes to music, and so I'm fully expecting some people to hate the tracks, others to like them a bit, and perhaps occasionally, some to really like them and discover a new band they can grow to love.

Starless - King Crimson

An absolutely beautiful opening, one of the simplest yet most effective guitar solo from Robert Fripp in the middle, great saxophone, then a fantastic orgy of bass at the finale!

Love Wishbone Ash...have seen them a few times at a venue close to me.

Argus is their classic album. They were selling CDs of a live performance on a US radio show, where they played the entire Argus album. I managed to get Andy Powell to sign it for me.

I haven't - unlikely to ever match their great stuff. I still like to listen to them live playing their classics, even if it's only really Andy Powell carrying the flag for the original line up.

The track is from the Acoustic Verses album.

They also have a brilliant album called Light of Day, Day of Darkness, which is a single song album, with the track lasting over 1 hour. It's much heavier than the Acoustic Verses though, but if you like heavy, then check it out...the entire track is on YouTube too.

Second Life Syndrome - Riverside

Great heavy yet melodic track from Polish band Riverside. Was lucky enough to go and see them at the Camden Undeworld a few years back. Small arena, right close to the front, was an excellent gig.
