Now, mark my words, the majority of people will probably not like anything of what I post up here.

However, I will remain undeterred by criticism, in fact I will thrive on it, and continue to post up music I enjoy, and hopefully convert some people to a new musical experience.

Feedback appreciated...both good and bad. Most will be links to YouTube songs from the bands.

Perhaps when you're on here either posting your mindless drivel, or treating the unwashed masses to some words of wisdom, you might see your way clear to clicking on some of the links, and drinking in this wonderful music!

So, to start with:

Drip Drip - Comus (1971)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHHZhIZOF44

Come on......good, bad, terrible, indifferent?

There were some excellent progressive rock/folk bands around in the early 70s. Sadly this wasn't one of them.

I'm always up for listening to stuff I've never heard before, but if you want repeat visitors to a thread with 'brilliant music' in the title, then my humble suggestion would be to start off with some brilliant music.

Just a thought. Happy

All comments read and appreciated from the constructive to the faintly amusing to the downright derogatory. I will aim to provide one link per day to brilliant music......the rest is in your hands.

WD Joci, whatever anyone's opinion the fact that they gave it a listen is surely OK. After all, how do you know what is "brilliant music" without listening to others' tastes?

(btw I haven't listened to it yetLaugh)

Jordrök - Änglagård

Listened to four minutes of it. Some strong similarities with early Genesis. The Steve Hackett/Tony Banks influence is very evident. Not saying that's a bad thing. I'm sufficiently curious that I'll have a listen to it in its entirety this evening when I have more time.

Histoire Sans Paroles - Harmonium

Listened to five minutes. Didn't dislike what I heard by any means. Once again, I'll listen to the whole thing this evening. And maybe even something else by them.

Close To The Edge - Yes

Don't need to listen this one; I'm sufficiently familiar with it.
Individually, the band members of Yes are hugely talented. I loved The Yes Album and played it to death. I still trot it out occasionally even though it now sounds a bit dated. But for me, they peaked with that album, and although I bought all their subsequent albums up to Tormato, I never really got into them and always felt that they'd become a parody of themselves. Close To The Edge did little for me at the time, and it hasn't improved with time as far as I'm concerned.

Comus - Drip Drip

Decided to be fair and listen to this all the way through and for me that was probably it's downfall as I don't like this type of music and it's very long at over 10 mins

At only 8:17 this got off to a better start. After about 2 mins was waiting for the end and then I was surprised as I felt it got a little better.I'm never going to be a massive fan but felt it was better than the first one.

Nine Feet Underground - Caravan

For a song that lasts 22 minutes,I would have expected a few more tempo changes. It was alright as background music while I pottered around the house but I would have got bored if I had it on in the car. It certainly reminded me of the French band Air,I would not be surprised if they had it in their record collection.

I might listen to some of the other songs on this thread some time. I am familiar with Close To The Edge. An excellent choice.
