Good evening and welcome to a new weekly thread dedicated to a particular forumite. This great honour will only be bestowed upon Chit Chatters of some repute and should be regarded as the ultimate forum accolade.
In this inaugural edition we shall be discussing the Chit Chat life and times of PUMPHOL.
Please let everyone know what you think of the man (good and bad) and reminisce about his best (or worst) moments within our little community.
He has been on every quiz show known to man, apart from University Challenge and Mastermind
His first appearance was so long that he still had hair back then

Please tell us about your favourite thread you have created on Chit Chat.
Yes the original Yesteryear thread, over 4 years old when resigned to virtual waste bin when hitting over 50,000 posts, many a good song & some bad were exposed on this popular thread as well as racing tips with many big priced winners, sadly the follow up thread could never match the original.

pumphol runs the highly succesful tipping competitions on major meetings on chit chat ably assisted by other "darker" shady characters ...
his claim to fame is that in his 5,374 tv quiz show appearances he once reached the second round in one .. one of chit chatters "good" guys .. it was a shame to see him falling or brought down so many times in the "Fun Grand National" Quizzes , where he was expected to show prominently --- (if only he could have stayed on his feet and in the races )...
as a chit chatter his overall mark out of 10 is a 9 ...long may he be here.

There are certain individuals in this largely eclectic community we frequent that makes the place an even more agreeable place to visit and generally chew the fat about stuff. Our man Pumphol is certainly one of those people

If I write a long list it will look to much like showing off I will say my first appearance was in 1990 on 15-1 which I was on again 12 years later for a second time.
Have won on a few programmes
Strike It Lucky Mind The Gap Panic Attack King Of The Castle Other wins without not to much in the way of prizes & quite a few dismal efforts inc Out first on The Weakest Link Thrashed by world quiz champion Kevin Ashman on Sale Of The Century to name but a few. All good fun, how many more I am likely to get on now a balding middle aged man god only knows

To many names to mention but the standard on chit chat is nothing short of amazing imo, there are several top class quizzers on here of whom many would give the eggheads a more than decent run for their money, hats of to nibbsey who should win chit chatter of the decade imo for his dedication to make quizzing on here all the more enjoyable.
Sorry to leave but have to go out for a few hours. I bid you all a very good night.

One of the funniest threads on here for a while, in fact funnier than a SDK joke
I'm one of the few to have witness the slipper king in action, his wares adorn the feet of many an East End granny, sadly his clientele were a dying breed
so good he could have sold clogs to a dutchman
Deserves a CCBE for services to placepotting

Thank you very much for your answers thus far. We now move on to two subjects upon which the Chit Chat regulars seem keen to know how their favourite forumites stand.
Pumphol, what do you think of the beta forum and its ability to post pictures?
Pumphol, in which order would you do Girls Aloud?

Girls Aloud are old hat imo
I am one of the few that still uses the Classic Forum, I am sure the pictures are great & may well tickle the fancy of others but while I have a choice I will be sticking to Classic.

I'm certain I saw him on 'The Sale Of The Century' in the mid 70's one day, the quiz of the week hosted by Nicholas Parsons. Only the true dinosaurs on here will remember that show but I'm fairly sure it was Pumps. He bought a garden shed and all the paraphernalia that went with it for £42 which cost him the place in the final round.

bet pumphol only sticks to Classic forum as it reminds him of that old Adrian Gurvitz hit ;)
That said, I've stuck to Classic too.
And pumphol's original Yesteryear thread was a chit chat classic.
Pumphol's a top chit chatter imo, great work with the placepots, etc, and wd for telling us and then putting up with the banter during his TV appearances, especially about that bright orange shirt that was worn so much it ended up beige.
Good judge of a bag of crisps too, altho how he manages to stay so scrawny?
