Good question and a difficult one to answer as the choices are not exactly plentiful of the current crop, I'll have to have a think about this and get back to you.

Anton Du Beke is a strange choice. Then again he's the only one on the list to have played the title role in a Hollywood blockbuster film, so deserves some kudos for that.

I've got a few I really like. Stephen Fry, most of the Coast team (Dr Alice
), Simon Schama, and more.Does Michael Portillo count as an intellectual seeing as he has a first at Cambridge? If so, then say what you like about him as a politician, but he is absolutely first class (excuse the pun)on Great Railway Journeys. |

By:
On reflection and having had a good think about the subject matter I'll have to agree with Rachel Riley. Plus she has got an absolutely cracking arse which is never a bad thing on a sage.

I was a bit young to really take notice of what he did as a politician. Just always thought people moaned about him. Was he actually OK then?

No wonder this country's going to the dogs...
The correct answer is chit chat sweetheart Victoria Coren. Intelligent, pretty, funny, big chebs, gambler, smoker, drinker, word pedant. With the exception of the smoking, pretty much my perfect woman. Adam Curtis is quite interesting as an alternative, though I'm less inclined to sleep with him. These are worth 5 mins of your time... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8moePxHpvok http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87WqBDgc7wY |

Stephen Fry is by far my favourite TV intellectual. As well as being incredibly clever and diverse, he has a superb sense of humour.
When he was manically depressed a few years back, he decided that his only two options were to do himself in or flee to Belgium. I always thought that was absolute comedy genius. |
