thank you once again Mr N.

One small point please, I got question 1 correct and should have a score of 16 and not 15.  Can't believe I outscored the div 1 champion and haven't been promoted!!!  Grrrr! well done treble mate.

splendid Nibbs, wd Nirvana and the other winners

gutted to be relegated by 0.01 of goal average Cry

got mixed up with the chronology of the Lloyd George Liberals & the Official Liberals

Also 50/50 on Jupiter/Neptune and Eagle/Hawk and guessed wrong on both

16-1 for next week's high scorer is a bit of a put down for me Angry  Only one point off the leader this week and would have won the top division...

I must be the only player relegated twice, hard to believe i was very close to Division 1 a couple of times

going like Cambridge United, on the brink of the premier league, then non league a few seasons later

i think division 2 has to be the toughest division to get out of (upwards) tobermory.  since i was relegated into it, i've scored 15, 15 and 16 and still not managed to get promoted back.  and twice my score would have been good enough to win the top division!

twomatchpoints has been relegated two divisions too.

Weekly Averages

Qual   - 11.00
Week 1 - 11.94
Week 2 - 10.65
Week 3 - 11.55
Week 4 - 10.32

Weekly Median

Qual   - 10.5
Week 1 - 12
Week 2 - 10
Week 3 - 11
Week 4 - 10.5

A very weird week this week, as Dan pointed out the scores were very bunched up, regardless of division.

Jupiter instead of Neptune

Falcon instead of Hawk

Couldn’t  remember Lloyd George in time to type it

Killed a load of Sikhs in the Golden Temple at Amritsar in a rom-com game but couldn’t remember it, and went for Agra instead

My mouse decided not to be on the space, and when I looked up from typing , my answer of ‘Johnson’ wasn’t there. If I don’t know and don’t guess, I always type ‘Pass‘, but I typed nothing

Jimmy Stewart instead of Jimmy Shand

Had Wozza down as Swedish ffs - and she cost me a 17/1 acca the other day

Still, nice to see I got Faraday and Nirv didn’t Happy

Well done Treble on achieving the highest score this week.

As ever - many thanks to Mr Nibbs for being the Trojanist Trojan that he is!

Cheers Nibbs once again- great effort.

Found it tough going this week and relegation is no surprise. Sad
It was a toss up between Derby and National for the racing one and I got it wrong and as I was typing Pluto for the planet one I was thinking 'sh1t, Pluto's not classed as planet anymore, put the next one in - Neptune' but there was only about 2 seconds left so I just put Pluto.

Cheers Nibbs.  I don't know if I just have delusions of grandeur, but I really don't know why I keep getting such low scores.

Thanks a bunch MrNibbs. Excellent.

Two Stewards this week. One kindly given, one harshly taken away.
I'd be happy with 33% of Stewards, so 50% is a bonus.

Not sure how many of the next 4 Quizzes, I'll manage due to going away.

I'm sure you know a lot of obscure stuff which others don't, rob. It's just that you know different obscure stuff to Nibbsy.

I hosted a quiz on Friday night just gone. 30 questions, all of which came from my head apart from 3 sports questions which I had to research. So I would have scored 27 out of 30 if I'd been a contestant. As I seem to be consistently achieving very low scores in Nibbsy's quiz, you would therefore expect my quiz to have been a pushover for most on here, and yet the highest score was only 17 (fishy), followed by Nirv on 15 and Muntz with 13. There were 4 skinners. Nibbsy, who was there from start to finish, only scored 2.

So what I'd expected to be a pretty easy quiz for most (as it was all stuff I already knew) was actually quite tricky apparently. So an awful lot depends on who's setting the questions and to what extent your obscure knowledge overlaps with his. And I keep using the word obscure because we tend to think of it as such if we don't know the answer.

If you want to see the questions and see how you would have done I'd be happy to post them for you on the Diary thread some time this morning.

All of those scores included some double points for uniques by the way.

Cheers Nibbs, good questions again.
I thought the Jimmy Shand one might have been a unique, but 4 of us got it, just remembering though, there was  a horse named after him.
Just been reading back through and there were another 7 easily gettable ones.
Brassed Off, LLoyd George, Siren, Wireless, Danish (thought she was Polish Cry), Marie Antionette (typed when the box wasn't active) and Hawks.
So, I think the difficulty level is just about right, a good mix.
WD to all the top scorers.

The current Quiz League season will end in late June. Thinking ahead, what should be done for next season?

For the tentative suggestion box

Determine how many players are going to take part and allocate 1 point for each player, per question

Example 40 players

If 40 get a Q right they get 40/40 points each (1)
If 30 get a Q right they get 40/30 points each (1.33)
If 20 get a Q right they get 40/20 points each (2)
If 10 get a Q right they get 40/10 points each (4)
If 5 get a Q right they get 40/10 points each (8)

If somebody is clever enough or lucky enough to get a unigue, he gets 40 points for it

Mr N, I thought I had scored 11.

On Q12 I had a bit of a brain freeze, but my correct answer was 1 sec. ahead of yours on my screen. I thought you said you allowes a second for this?
