Rancheros were circa 1970 when I was eating them with 6 points of lager after 2 hours of tennis.Loved 'em.

Bit young to remember them, althougb I do have fond memories of eating crisps from see through packets than foil ones.

Anyone from the London area indulged in Tavern Snacks? They were founded in the 70's and are still king of the crisp for me.

There were also claws which were part of the fans/bones range. On a side note, look at the prices. 3p!! If it was thought ok that the smallest unit of currency should be 1/6 the price of a small bag of crisps, why have we still got brown money hanging around now? I just find it irritating and wish they'd get rid of it.

I've ordered some Rancheros from the Emerald Isle ,why the bleep aren't they still sold here?

Will report back whether they are still any good on arrival.

Report everythings gone green April 25, 2012 4:27 PM BST
Due to one of the early 70s budgets the price of crisps was reduced from 3p to 2 1/2p and our miserable old newsagent would happily pocket the difference if you didn't know.

Report cooperman April 25, 2012 5:10 PM BST

Report Slippy Blue April 25, 2012 6:48 PM BST
Of the current crop I would recommend Worcester sauce flavoured french fries, well worth a try if you have yet to discover them.
Report doridoru April 25, 2012 6:55 PM BST
Skydivers yeah they were great, Sooner snacks made the Jaws crisps aswell as Nik Naks and Wheat Crunchies...bought they got bought out and stopped making the best ever Jaws crisps! Scared and changed Nik Naks and the Wheat Crunchies...never been as good since...
