When was the last time you used a telephone box ?

Ive got no mobile..........use em if there working

although i only make around 1 call a week on my own phone

1970 I was doing the same as the bhoys abt 1 am & the phone rang...................she looked at me and said "are you going to answer it"....................I replied............It might be your mother!

When I used to tap the numbers to receive free calls in the old 60's boxes with A and B buttons in them.

Probably about the same time I put my hand in someone else's spittle...or was that in the lift at the local high rise flats?

Back in the pre-mobile days I don't remember getting off a plane and there being a mad dash to the public call boxes to see if there were any messages left back at the office.
Nowadays, the wheels have barely touched the tarmac and people are panic turning on their mobiles in case they've missed something life threatening during the past 90 minutes.

As a kid there was one opposite my parents house. We used to put shoe polish on the receiver then go back home and ring the number as people passed by and watch them answer it. Innocent fun.

Probably over ten years ago for me, when I almost stopped to use one, but managed to hold on
till I got home!
