2006 FA Cup final (West Ham v Liverpool) and I had put a correct score bet on. A month before, the Hammers had beaten Arsenal 3-2 at the last game played at Highbury (the one where Sol Campbell walked out at half time), so I decided to back that exact same score in the cup final at 95's on here.
90 minutes up, and the score is 3-2 to West Ham. Then Gerrard hits that 30 yard volley in the 93rd minute to take it into extra time. And I'm a West Ham fan. Was not happy that evening. |

The night before the 1996 Scottish Cup Final I had a dream that the final score was 4-1,except that I didn't know who won,so on Saturday morning I had £10 on Hearts at 200/1 and £10 on the Huns at 33/1, on that correct score.
With the Huns leading 3-0,Hearts got a goal back about 20 minutes into the second half and I thought 'OK,we're being trashed, but I've got a chance for +£320'.With 10 minutes remaining the Huns made it 4-1.Those remaining minutes lasted an eternity but with several minutes still to play the Huns scored again. ![]() ![]() ![]() Had we won I would have gone to Edinburgh for the celebrations but instead went to an evening meeting at Hamilton(about 20 minutes drive from Hampden).Didn't bet a single winner. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I once had the last ticket remaining in the jackpot at Kinsley dogs,it had not been won for a few meetings and the pot was 25k that big in the greyhound world, the last race was an open event and my dog was 2/1 fav,the whole track knew i was on and shouted come on trap two has the hare started,my dog slept in and was never in the race.
(I managed to come to some agreement with a bookie friend before the race and took £500 compensation) I still have the ticket. |

A friend lived next door to someone who said his son was the dogs b@ll#cks at snooker & would be world champion within 7 years, he was utterly convinced by this & for once in my life I listened to this heart rendering rendition & I went into my local independent shop & backed the young 16 year old.
I got 100/1 he would be World Snooker Champion by 1999. Sadly Ronnie O Sullivan became world champion for the first time in 2001 ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Man city cost me either nearly 7 grand or 5 grand, depends how you look at it. Had a fiver 10+ timer, cant remember how many in total. This was when Man city won the second tier league with 100+ points, the match was either a Friday night or a Sunday and they lost 1-0 in the last minute, all the others won on the Saturday, man city were at home about 1/3, now i never spread accas over 2-3 days.
