Aerial was well worth the wait.

Well it's been said that Mrs Bartolozzi is the one song that will divide people right down the middle, and it's no exception with me. No matter how many times I listen to it I just don't like it. The first verses I can just about cope with, but it just goes on too long. "Sloosh sloshy get that washing clean".. sorry I just can't relate to it. It's the one track on the album where I always hit the skip track button on the CD player.

An ode to washing machines... sorry I just don't buy it. To me doing the washing is stuffing the clothes in putting the powder in and turning the dial on and then forgetting about it for the next hour and a half, it's utterly mundane and I certainly wouldn't write a song about it even if I could. And the rest of the song drifting off into some kind of fantasy... I'm sorry but she really needs to get out more.

Mrs. bartolozzi ... what have you done!!

this is truly I think Kate darkest song... when first heard people talked about it didnt know what to think ,.. I stayed with a clear opened mind.. humm a song about washing machine.. what does that mean>> a meaning to it??..
when I heard it for the very first time .... it was the very first song I cried to ... be cuse the character that kates sinning about she must have been a murder .... she is sad .. mixed up woman that insane about cleaning ,.. there always something very deep and sad about people upsess with cleaning ... like ( Joan Crawford) she is a very deeply disburse woman ... she was very up see with cleaning .. she even one time demaned her maids to mop and buff the trees out side in her front lawn ,.. he maids quit... that day...

even so the idea that there is blood and soup mix in together all the while Mrs. Bartolozzi .. just stare blankly into the washing machine and sing this ..............

Slooshy sloshy slooshy sloshy
Get that dirty shirty clean
Slooshy sloshy slooshy sloshy
Make those cuffs and collars gleam
Everything clean and shiny

could it be that Mrs. Bartolozzi.. trying to clean the evidence ,... and now is total insane after she killed her husband... she is seeing things haunted by her own demented mind ..?? parnoded left into her own cell of horrored world... I did found an image that speck to me in kates lyrics here ,
( should been Kate herself) when I seen it thought of Kate bush and the character she created of Mrs. Bartolozzi....
..

My skirt floating up around my waist
As I wade out into the surf
Oh and the waves are coming in
Oh and the waves are going out
Oh and you're standing right behind me
Little fish swim between my legs

there is something about people doing there washing is very sad to me, I mean at a laundry mat.... look around people look kind of in a deep thoughts.... I rember when just this new years eve, joe and I wear on our way to a party and I saw a young woman as we are stopped by the traffic light corner across a lady she was all alone on new years eve .,. and I could see from there with wide windows she look very sad in thought... very deep in thoughts .. he you are doing your laundry on news years.. I dont know there something very moving.... to me about washing machines and laundry I agree with Kate there is something very personal about someone clothes ... the lacy persons who was murder .... her mother said on a TV show primetime said she kept lacis shirt in a plastic bag , to preserved her smell so her mother will never for get lacy, its something to hold in value.. and they do say that sent bring you memories too.......

so I didnt laugh at Mrs. Bartolozzi,.... I just listen with my full intense that Kate bush derived from me.. she did a very good job on this song , and it could be a movie ,... and this song

Mrs. Bartolozzi , can be the theme song.... could it??

peace

You can bet that it's about much more than doing the washing. This is Kate, always ambiguous.

Google the track if you are interested in exploring this further

Oh, I see that you have

I haven't listened to the song yet, not sure I can spare four minutes.

6 minutes

Before I opened this post, you won't believe me, I said to myself...... crags will probably tell me it is six minutes

Psychic?

Probably  1.8   6 mins

What is the closest you have ever been to Kate?

As I've been to her second home in Devon a few times, could be quite close.

Don't know if she was in, mind

As long as she gets my cards that's all that matters.

She's got my address as well if she wants to get in touch

Maybe it's time to let go…… just think there must be a Kate Bush lookalike out there who may be single.

Maybe you are Kate Bush and are doing a bit of self-promotion on the quiet

I'm a fan of Kate Bush and her work, not some lookalike bint.

Well, Poppydog does have the running joke that Kate reads this forum but doesn't post.

Don't you think its character defect to set someone up as your idol

Mike Tyson had no idols

Think Poppy caught one of the Hammersmith gigs, but he's never been to her house.

I'm bored with you for now, spotty.

I thought that would get under your skin

I suppose there must be 50 people just like you…… infatuated with Kate

I used to like Siouxsie similarly but it faded

I love Siouxsie and a member of fan club. Not much I don't know about that sexpot.

Have the occasional online squabble with Severin, which is quite funny. Budgie is a great guy though.

Bit sad she couldn't have children

She is happy batting for the other side now with Pam

Did she have a go at IVF treatment

Fook nose

Sioux and Pam xx

You should Google like you normally do

I will have forgotten more about Susan than you've ever known (nap)

I thought you may know

Can pictures be made bigger using the size malarkey?

I have a feeling they can't

Up I was at a gig at Malvern Winter Gardens  and I had an opportunity to go through a small window into the bands changing room..... Could have met her face-to-face.... But I chickened out

Better than getting thrown out, mate

Just google pictures of Siouxsie and Pam Hogg

https://youtu.be/CrntiODW_ek

Kate would never leave her man for a woman, another guitarist maybe, but never a woman.

I haven't done much youtubing of Siouxsie..... Maybe I shouldn't

You never click on any YouTube clips on here, leo.*

* have decided to refer to you as leo as it's quicker to type than spotty. Nicer too

The craziest performance of Army Dreamers. Rare as well, Puppydog probably hasn't even clocked this one before.

No news on the BTD DVD yet.

Kate and an all star band performing the sublime The Wedding List 1982, good quality.

She's looking devine, has major clothing malfunction and her boobs nearly fall out towards the end, poor girl

Think there are 2 versions of that. Her brother Paddy has two roles in one of them.

Will check out your link.

Nice. Someone posted that on the Kate Bush forum a few years ago, but yours is quality.

It is and it was written by Peter Gabriel for his SO album.

Kate made it great though and many people think of it as one of hers

Don't Give UP. Or doantgiveup, as one forumite might say

Crags     wow KB overload

by the way   Snaith has been posting that I owe youan apology for the 2013demonics!!!

do I ??

if so please accept it , lets move on its been 4n years only :)

hows it going BTW?

Ricky, you don't seem to be as friendly with Nathan as you used to be? Mind you, you do chop and change a lot!

Looked on TRF but didn't see any comment from Snaithan re apology that you mentioned. I think what you did wrong back then was bringing the argument over here, it should have stayed on TRF, Imo. Gamble wasn't too happy with you doing that either as I remember.

Hope Gamble is still with us, would be good to see him post on here or over at TRF. Can't quite remember the last name he used on here now... Son of.....?

Thinking about our old pal's name, I think it was Lamb of God?

Lamb of the Lord!

Lamb lies down on Broadway?

Ok all good   look under thread Ricky lakes peace initiave!!!

anyway its all bollocks, I dont care about TRF now , its a waste of space  good riddance to them

I too hope gamble is with us, I doubt it though , he would have popped up by now  he  was son of Betfair

I hardly ever visit it , same old rubbish ,no lounge , same 6 posters talking **** about horses

I think this KB bush thread is brilliant BTW

How could a Kate Bush thread be anything but brilliant

TRF is not the place it was when Craig was the man no doubt about that, but all forums are on the decline it seems.

^^ One for Vel to paint above, maybe?

TT for Vel

He probably wants to surprise me

Hounds Of Love is one of my favourite albums still after all those years.

A truly great album, Slippy. Such a contrast between the two sides but both brilliant. To think that Kate was still only in her 20s when she crafted that is amazing. What a woman

This photo from the HOL shoot  was unseen till late 2015 when her brother John Carder Bush released it as part of his third book of photos of his little sis. It's very cute.

3 years to the week for those amazing shows in London

The magical 'An Architect's Dream (Live)'

without errr.... Rolf Harris

Threads like this should last forever.

A rare (but great quality) clip of Kate singing the fantastic 'Babooshka'
live in Venice in 1980

https://youtu.be/nB1ySF0_KQ8

Resembling a goddess in a stunning black evening dress and dancing and moving alluringly.

I'm a big fan, but she wasn't singing live here.

'Heavy People'

They hit her in a soft spot!

There you go Crags .....

Why didn't he do it himself, Mr Scratchy? We know who he is.

Who is that then ?

Perhaps he doesn't want it broadcasting, the reason for the Itchy and Scratchy show. I'm not going to snitch on him.

Leopard, who is JS M on that youtube page?

....answered on other thread....as you noticed....
