Tough quizzes are good: get you thinking and you learn a lot.

Quiz poll. Just a few Qs:

1. Do you prefer GK or specialist quizzes (eg. Sport)?
2. Do you prefer Qs to be random or organised into categories?
3. How long is your ideal quiz: 20, 30 Qs, more?
4. How much 'banter time' do you like between the scores and the next Q coming up: 10, 20, 30 secs, more?
5. Do you think enough people host quizzes?

For me:
1. GK
2. Don't mind, up to Qmaster
3. 30 Qs
4. 30 secs
5. No, we could do with a few more. Hosting one every 2-3 weeks  shouldn't be too difficult for anyone.

1. Do you prefer GK or specialist quizzes (eg. Sport)? - GK as the only sport I know much about is footy
2. Do you prefer Qs to be random or organised into categories? - don't mind, I just find it easier to put into categories when I'm compiling them
3. How long is your ideal quiz: 20, 30 Qs, more? - certainly no more than 30 as I'm usually out of the running by about five4. How much 'banter time' do you like between the scores and the next Q coming up: 10, 20, 30 secs, more? - don't mind at all, but when I'm QM I like to rattle thru 'em, mainly to stop googling
5. Do you think enough people host quizzes? - nowhere near enough - there are more 'takers' than 'givers' deffo

1. Do you prefer GK or specialist quizzes (eg. Sport)?
Not sure, I like sport and geography and science, but if it was for instance history or music i wouldn't bother, too hard.  50-50 overall
2. Do you prefer Qs to be random or organised into categories? not too bothered though i like to know what subject the next question is, idk why
3. How long is your ideal quiz: 20, 30 Qs, more? The more the better, i don't get tired
4. How much 'banter time' do you like between the scores and the next Q coming up: 10, 20, 30 secs, more?  I normally like them quickfire, unlike others who prefer more time
5. Do you think enough people host quizzes?  I think there are enough qms.  Some people take part a lot yet rarely if ever host, doesn't bother me.  Perhaps some people are a little scared of hosting quizzes, they needn't be.

1. Do you prefer GK or specialist quizzes (eg. Sport)?
Don't mind but not music or footie.
2. Do you prefer Qs to be random or organised into categories? Don't mind but I suppose the more organised the better.
3. How long is your ideal quiz: 20, 30 Qs, more? An hour long seems ideal. It depends on the QM how many they can get in.
4. How much 'banter time' do you like between the scores and the next Q coming up: 10, 20, 30 secs, more?  Quickfire preferably so we don't have to hear too mch of the Hedgehog's jokes....only joking broLaugh
5. Do you think enough people host quizzes?  Probably should be some more. I can do the odd one.

1. Do you prefer GK or specialist quizzes (eg. Sport)? GK, particularly averse to sports as I just can't compete with the experts on here
2. Do you prefer Qs to be random or organised into categories? Don't mind
3. How long is your ideal quiz: 20, 30 Qs, more? 30 or more
4. How much 'banter time' do you like between the scores and the next Q coming up: 10, 20, 30 secs, more? 30 secs is about right imo
5. Do you think enough people host quizzes? I think there are some very good quizsetters who it would be nice to hear more from

1. Do you prefer GK or specialist quizzes (eg. Sport)? Prefer a sport based quiz as my general knowledge is no way near good enough to compete with everyone else, there should be at least six questions on greyhound racing though on any quiz in an ideal world.
2. Do you prefer Qs to be random or organised into categories? I think categorised is the better option of the two but not that fussed.
3. How long is your ideal quiz: 20, 30 Qs, more? 25-30 Q's is about right, so about 80 minutes is about right.
4. How much 'banter time' do you like between the scores and the next Q coming up: 10, 20, 30 secs, more? 30 seconds is a reasonable gap.
5. Do you think enough people host quizzes? Probably not to be honest.

Quiz poll. Just a few Qs:

1. Do you prefer GK or specialist quizzes (eg. Sport)? GK should have broader appeal, but specialist quizzes do pull in big crowds.
2. Do you prefer Qs to be random or organised into categories? Both OK - varying things keeps thm interesting
3. How long is your ideal quiz: 20, 30 Qs, more? 25-30 q's ideally, with an occasional mega quiz of some sort.
4. How much 'banter time' do you like between the scores and the next Q coming up: 10, 20, 30 secs, more? 30 secs is good.
5. Do you think enough people host quizzes? Probably should be some more, Jimmy should do the odd one Happy

Quiz poll. Just a few Qs:

1. Do you prefer GK or specialist quizzes (eg. Sport)? - I  really don't mind, although I rarely bother with geography ones (surprise, surprise!)
2. Do you prefer Qs to be random or organised into categories? - Again, I don't mind either.
3. How long is your ideal quiz: 20, 30 Qs, more? - About an hour to an hour and a half's worth, tops.
4. How much 'banter time' do you like between the scores and the next Q coming up: 10, 20, 30 secs, more? - No idea on how many seconds these things take - but whatever the upper limit is. I prefer the daftness to anything else.
5. Do you think enough people host quizzes? - Again, no idea. I've hosted a few in the past, but people were growing beards by the time I'd managed to type a Q out! If someone will teach me how to put my Q and As somewhere for me to C+P on bleedin' Chrome, I'll host a few more.

Tommy:

I don't know what others do but I just use notepad (sometimes preferable to Word as it doesn't do all the fancy formatting when you least expect it), every computer should have this I think it is free, I type the questions in there and then copy and paste as I go.  Not sure what others do, but it works well for me.

1. Do you prefer GK or specialist quizzes (eg. Sport)?

- I prefer Sports quizzes, but the GK ones tend to be more informative.

2. Do you prefer Qs to be random or organised into categories? - Doesn't matter either way.

3. How long is your ideal quiz: 20, 30 Qs, more? - 30 Q's is ideal at a reasonable pace, when Alex gets going 20 questions feels like about 2 Silly

4. How much 'banter time' do you like between the scores and the next Q coming up: 10, 20, 30 secs, more? - 30 seconds or so seems acceptable.

5. Do you think enough people host quizzes? - No, but people have time and connectivity issues. I can't host one in the new place as I get kicked too often. I will try one in the near future though, and am toying with the idea of a league based quiz for the regulars at Nibbs' place.

UTI, I really (and I'm not joking) don't know what either notepad or word are.
Remember; I use this computer like an abacus, and have no idea about what things are on it, or where they are - and don't really want to, but if someone could give me a "Go there and click that, Tommy" kind of instruction, I'd be able to understand it - possibly!

Click on the start button, bottom right is there a button saying "all programs"?  if so click it, then click on accessories and then on notepad.  It is a very basic word processing (typing letters etc) program.  Just type in there whatever you want and save it wherever you want and copy and paste however you want)

England 274/6.  would you adam and eve it, missed out by 1 run.

1. Do you prefer GK or specialist quizzes (eg. Sport)?
General Knowledge. Everyone has a chance that a favourable question will pop up in GK ones.

2. Do you prefer Qs to be random or organised into categories?
Arguments for both. If three ballet questions are imminent I can put the kettle on, and it allows for a storming-up of the standings by someone if they know their particular stuff. One the other hand, it's nice to think you're just one question away from scoring any points. Blush

3. How long is your ideal quiz: 20, 30 Qs, more?
Probably 40 questions, or more if the quizmaster/scorer can be bothered.

4. How much 'banter time' do you like between the scores and the next Q coming up: 10, 20, 30 secs, more?
Between the standings being updated and the next question appearing, there should be a 45-60 second gap imo. I like the puns, which are as much of a reason to be there as the quizzes themselves! The nature of mibbit lends itself well to bantering/punning without missing the question, and I like it when Alex is in full seal-clapping mode. Laugh

5. Do you think enough people host quizzes?
Probably not as wide a span as I imagined there would be, when it started. But then I'm guessing Chit Chat took a while to flourish? People are still becoming accustomed to it all (/style bold etc), so no worries on that front imo. I'm happy with things as they are.

Last night, Mr W held a quiz of 20 Qs (I think that was the number) and it took just about an hour to complete.
I thought that the perfect time for just about everything time wise between Qs, scoring and banter time.
