Near or in? There's a good river walk from Elterwater with waterfalls and great countryside, dippers in the river.

Anywhere around Buttermere is incredible, still quite unspoilt. But for a waterfall you can't get better than Gordale Scar in Malham in Yorkshire. It's how you might imagine the moon to look.

We went to Ingleton during a hot summer, the waterfall was like a dripping tap.

Ingleton can be quite strenuous if they aren't used to walking far & as said earlier they've got to be viewed after heavy rain.
A walk which may interest you is Aira (spelt something like that)Force which is in the Lake district, worth a visit. |
