you do know that this whole "dour" persona he displays in public is entirely deliberate don't you?
if any of you had read his book "Hitting Back" you would know that he decided to give the press the bare minimum of information, just do what is contractually required and you would know why he took that decision (when he was young some greasy hack interviewed him and Murray answered all his questions candidly only for the journalist to do a hatchet job on him - from then Murray said "phuck you" to the media and gives them nothing) because people that know him well say he is a good laugh, cracks jokes and is a really decent bloke but don't let any of this change your carefully formed opinion of the bloke based on the few post match interviews and **** that you've seen |

That may be true but these half wit sportsmen do my head in.
They are lucky to be great at a sport that TV embraces, therefore sponsors and the public embrace. They therefore bank millions. TV and the printed media has made tennis players into super stars. A little humility wouldn't go amiss. |

I think Andy murray - The forumite - got his name from the 1st 2 things he saw when asked to come up with a forum name.
