Zero, written 0, is both a number and the numerical digit used to represent that number in numerals. It plays a central role in mathematics as the additive identity of the integers, real numbers, and many other algebraic structures. As a digit, 0 is used as a placeholder in place value systems. In the English language, 0 may be called zero, nought or (US) naught (both pronounced /ˈnɔːt/), nil, or "o". Informal or slang terms for zero include zilch and zip.[1] Even ought or aught (both pronounced /ˈɔːt/), probably from misdivisions of a nought or a naught respectively, have been used despite the opposite meaning of aught 'anything'

I reiterate

Jamie Murray 1
Andy Murray 0

therefore, Andy Murray isn't even the best tennis player in his family

If you can count Mixed Doubles wins, far from trouble,
you can also count the Junior US Open, in which case the totals are

Jamie Murray 1
Andy Murray 1

In terms of Mens' Singles Tennis players, Andy Murray remains technically the best British tennis player there has ever been.

Funny, no-one seems to count Andy Roddicks US junior title as a grand slam.

I haven't been around a while - how I love this thread.  The tabulated post a page or two back made me genuinely laugh out loud.

Oh, and what a gracious loser he was.

To prevent confusion and double counting, information in this table is updated only once a tournament or the player's participation in the tournament has concluded. This table is current through the 2010 U.S. Open.

No FFT, you can't filter it to suit your own nefarious agenda.
You either only count Senior Singles Slams, or all slams.

In either case, the Murray brothers are on the same total.

Plus Andy Murray won in Miami, which is unofficially the fifth Slam in the minds of many players.
So ram that up your fkn chimney.

from wikipedia:
The four Grand Slam tournaments, also called the Majors, are the most important tennis events of the year in terms of world ranking points, tradition, prize-money awarded, and public attention. They are the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. The Miami Masters is a mickey mouse best-of-three sets tournament which has a history stretching all the way back to 1985.

No-one counts junior tournaments because they are just grounding for the future.
Under 18s or whatever develop physically at different rates so results are all over the place.
Turning pro, usually occurs at 18+ when the body is mainly developed so the pro game is based
mostly on skill.
A doubles grand slam win is vastly more impressive that any junior title. These people are
playing for a living ffs.

Just had a little look at Andy Murray's official website.  Done my research, collated the information expressed in his own words.  And I have come up with definitive answer.

I'm on it.  Trouble is, "zero" is officially defined as 1 divided by infinity, and the concept crashes a few of the larger main frames.  Deep Blue is available sometime in October.  Will get back to you then.

Here's what Wiki actually says, actually in actuality(!)

Miami masters

Besides the four Grand Slam championships, the Sony Ericsson Open is one of the few events on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tours where the main singles draw (for both the men and the women) involves more than 64 players and where main draw play extends beyond one week. 96 men and 96 women compete in the singles competition, and 32 teams compete in each of the doubles competitions. The event lasts 12 days.

Given its size, history, and the fact that it is a combined event involving both men and women, this event has had the nickname "the 5th grand slam", since many consider the Sony Ericsson Open to be the fifth most prestigious event on the ATP and WTA tours – behind the four Grand Slam tournaments but ahead of the ATP World Tour Finals / WTA Tour Championships.

Well, Andy Murray's own website on the front page says he has won 15 ATP titles.  He doesn't include his junior titles if you do the maths.  And it says nothing in the over-view about no majors.

And in his own words after the latest defeat:

"I have no idea of whether I'll win a Grand Slam or not," he said. "You know, I want to but if I never win one, then what? If I give 100%, try my best, physically work as hard as I can, practice as much as I can, then that's all I can do."

I like this (1 new) facility on the thread titles.  I keep seeing it on this thread and thinking; "what's happened?  Has he won one".

As quick as the forum allows (ie. giving me time for a coffee and a ****) I open it up all excited.  And there it is, the result we have all been hoping to see:
