Has anyone said Teardrop by Massive Attack yet? I know it's suffered massively from being overplayed, but when it first came out it blew me away.
Teardrop - Massive Attack http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cL_1bmYCzs Honourable mention also to Sadeness Part1 - Enigma http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAGygIwNqQ0&feature=channel |

Alfee, my point is that most people can't be arsed to click on a youtube link if the poster has just posted a youtube address with no indication of what it is.

From The Mission...
Gabriel's Oboe - Ennio Morricone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L41oGXgVmZg&feature=related and this from Hannibal always sends a shiver down my spine. It always amazes me that it's not a piece of classical opera - it's so timeless... Vide Cor Meum - Patrick Cassidy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFB3PbD4-Lk |

Two cheesy classical ones:
Por Ti Volare - Andrea Bocelli (used in Stepbrothers (boats n' ho's etc) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZl0kBlGTc8 Nessun Dorma (from Turandot) - Puccini/Pavarotti http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4nuLdeNqdY and a non-cheesy one. One to just shut your eyes and let wash over you. Kyrie from Missa Papae Marcelli - Palestrina http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y28ZRYF9Q-4 If it wasn't for the beauty (and supposed devotion) of works by Palestrina and a couple of his contempories, the Council of Trent would probably have banned polyphony and only have allowed plainsong to be performed in religious buildings, which would have completely changed the face of classical music, and by extension, most European music. |
