I've never voted labour, never voted tory. Would NEVER vote Tory based on 200 years of Conservative history which I understand quite well, and which never changes.

All politics and politicians are in it for themselves (if not at 1st, then later). The system is designed by them for them.
My vote is worthless, most of our votes are. They are negated by the votes of people who have no idea what they're voting for.

Shameless David Cameron has raised more than £18million selling access to himself to investment bankers, hedge fund bosses and other super-rich financiers.

The huge "Cam-for-hire" cash bonanza comes from the Conservative chief's "Leader's Group", a secretive cash-for-access club with a £50,000 membership fee.

The Conservatives have received more than 300 donations between £50,000 and £100,000 since 2006 - entitling the donor to enter Cameron's exclusive club.

Many made their fortunes by gambling on the failure of British businesses and other nations' economies.

Among them is hedge-fund boss David Harding whose company Winton Capital, according to yesterday's Financial Times, has made a killing speculating on a collapse in the value of the pound.

Four months ago he gave the party £50,000, gaining him instant access to Cameron's inner sanctum.

Members are guaranteed phone calls and face-to-face meetings with the Tory chief - often at secret dinners at the palatial homes of influential donors.

Dinners and drinks parties are said to have taken place at Blenheim Palace, a £50million Chelsea mansion, the dining rooms of City finance firms and even the Tory leader's Notting Hill home.

There are more than 100 active super-rich members.

Through the club, a clique of money men have been allowed to grill the wannabe Prime Minister and lobby for their interests in a way that ordinary voters could only dream of.

With tackling bankers' bonuses and curbing risky investments one of the hottest issues facing the next government, this powerful group will be perfectly placed to get their way if Cameron wins the election.

They already stand to make millions from his pledges to raise the inheritance tax threshold to £1million and repeal the 50p tax band for the wealthiest.

The Leader's Group is so secretive that there is no official membership list and few donors are prepared even to confirm their membership - for fear of adding to public anger over Cameron's controversial funding machine. Lib Dem Norman Baker said yesterday the system mounted to a cash-for-influence deal.

"Time is money for these people, so they're not going round to David Cameron's house to admire his wallpaper2", said Baker

"I believe they're doing so because they want to influence a future Conservative government to provide a climate suitable for them and that could be described as an attempt to buy influence. The question is whether we want a government run for the interests of hedge-fund managers or one run for the majority of people in this country."

Senior Labour MP Tom Watson said the club made a mockery of Cameron's promises to clamp down on lobbying.

He said: "What do these hedge fund managers think they are getting in return when they give money to David Cameron? I don't suppose when they get their oneto-one time at dinners and meetings they are talking about what they did on their holidays. David Cameron says he wants to clean up politics but he has no shame when it comes to fundraising for his own party."

The Leader's Group is believed to be run by a former headhunter called Olivia Bloomfield, chief of staff to the Tories' treasurer, billionaire stockbroker Michael Spencer.

Together with Stanley Fink - known as "Godfather of the hedge fund" - Mr Spencer has been tasked with blowing Labour out of the water by raising £40million via the club and other activities.

Some donors prefer to give huge sums through companies or in their spouse's name, keeping their name out of the records.

One donor who has paid the £50,000 is Paul Ruddock, chairman of Lansdowne Partners, Europe's fourth-largest hedge fund and someone said to have a personal fortune of £350million
