Dad's Army board game banned from eBay for 'inciting racial hatred'
eBay's stance was supported by Peter Oteng, chief executive of the Worcestershire Racial Equality Council. He said: 'You can't joke with this because you are joking with millions of people killed. 'It's not a laughing matter at all. It's very serious.'

The true headline would have read

With 100 million listings globally we have to apply this rule to any item bearing such insignia, regardless of whether it is an innocent item like a board game. |

rules for the sake of rules. that just about sums up the 21st century. Discresion is not somethng tha can exist in our **genised corporate hell. Decisions are made using rules and those rules are applied indiscriminately with no regard for the purpose of the rule.

Whether the story comes from the Mail or the Guardian, the facts remain the same. ebay refuses to let somebody sell an innocent kids game based on a well loved family comedy. They spout about not being able to make exceptions but they mean they can't be bothered. Nobody is going to play that game and run out and invade Poland.
You should hear yourselves decrying the Mail but none of you ever says which paper is deemed worthy of your oh so well educated and liberal eyes. You roll over and believe what you think you should believe instead of what your educated eyes tell you. |

It was removed because it contains items associated with the marks of organisations that promote hatred and racial intolerance. That's very different from saying the game itself is racist. And they actually said the game is innocent

I've already said I hate eBay, I'm not defending them. Obviously the swastika has been brought to their attention and they've made a daft decision, one which is not applied consistently it seems, although they probably can't be expected to remove them all.
