i recorded my stats on poker once after playing 50 games(9 man tourneys), was in top 3 50% of the time, barely made anything, pennies more like

so not going to bother much

no wonder her bf never married her, seen the size of her knuckles it would cost 20k just for a modest wedding ring

same here mcmoonbeam, that's why I don't play poker much

I always think of it during the day when am day-dreaming at work but when the evening comes, I don't have the time for it since it's simply too boring

in a 9 man tourney, say I'd win it, the tourney would last an hour and 15mins............the first 50mins bore me to tears

I can afford a $50 tourney maybe twice a week, but I'd think I'd be wasting it

but think of doing MTT but I need to find the time, it can be 3/4 hours? The only day I could possibly do that is a Sunday
By:
Mc Moonbeam
When: 09 Jan 10 23:22
that's why i play turbo's mainly & multi-table

it is fun i think if you don't have to do it .. then it becomes a chore

$50 can be quite tough if you're not used to it mate .. i'd play $20 if i was you
By:
Mc Moonbeam
When: 09 Jan 10 23:26
i play higher too but there's a diff between 10/20/50/100/200
By:

2.50 is for people who can't play though :)
By:
Mc Moonbeam
When: 09 Jan 10 23:27
and that makes it harder tbh
By:

I've read that $5 games are meant to be easier than $2.50 games

as in $2.50 games there are a lot of half decent players who aren't rich

I understand about the turbo thing, but do you think a couple of minutes difference per blind raise makes a difference?

what do you think you are better off in "skill-wise" turbo or standard or does it matter?
By:
Mc Moonbeam
When: 09 Jan 10 23:39
it makes a diff if you're playing to make money as i can play more games /hour/day

a lot say they're too quick but if you play properly you'll win or lose the same really so why wait an extra half an hour .. don't play super turbo's though & i don't play here

turbo's are more aggressive yes .. but you can still play them quite tightly & the best players always last out the bad players
By:
Mc Moonbeam
When: 09 Jan 10 23:41
they 'think' they're good players .. so why haven't they made enough to move up ?
By:
punterfleecer
When: 09 Jan 10 23:46
well if you feel the best players always last out the crapper players in a turbo then there's no point in playing a standard tourney

Yea I've played a couple of super turbo games, ridiculous they are really, theres no way a decent player could make a living out of that

but I won't be one of those who'll want to seek out a living via poker, again as I have said, it's great working where I am, and have no intention of wanting to stay at home during the day

The $2.50 players? who knows? maybe they withdraw after making £50 and start again?

For example, take it you have a player that works outside for a living and only has 3 hours to spare for his life in a week-day, but doesn't want to use all 3 hours on the poker?

There's all sorts of people in life I suppose

i've never liked work tbh
never had chance to go to uni so can't get a job good enough for me :(
do you earn a good wage there ?
By:

When: 09 Jan 10 23:53
then they're Fun players then ... that's fine .. i don't mock them at all .. it's just the truth

tbh some high stakes players are terrible

some guy won a $1 world record tourney over new year for 30k

he blew the lot on high stakes cah in an hour or so :)
By:

When: 09 Jan 10 23:58
am happy with my wage with my job mcmoonbeam :)

again depends what people think is good money, besides, sky's the limit regarding promotion avenues

guy won 30k on a $1 tourney and blew it all on cash tourneys?

even I wouldn't be that**y
By:

no at high stakes cash games .. he'd never play more than a few dollar tourneys in his life !
By:

When: 10 Jan 10 00:05
cash games i meant sorry

well he's one of them, wins a big tourney and thinks he's c0ck of the north and happy to play high stakes games

looks like he got his comeuppance
By:
