CVG can confirm that Activision has pencilled in a November release for the seventh Call Of Duty - which will be set in the late 1960s, during the Vietnam War.

Following this week's rumours, a senior UK trade source today told us that the Treyarch-developed title is scheduled to arrive a full 12 months after last year's Modern Warfare 2.

They added that the game would be set during the Vietnam conflict - and takes particular influence from classic movies Apocalypse Now and Platoon.

"It's going to be November again - just as with World At War and Modern Warfare 2," they told CVG.

"Activision believes that it can own Christmas 2010, just as it has in the last two years.

"Development is on course - and Treyarch have been told the game must be ready to hit shelves before the gifting season."

Not excited at all. Treyarch games pale in comparison to IW's offerings. Although I definitely dont think MW2 was all it was cracked up to be.

Will be good to see a different setting at last, instead of modern and WWII

imo they should copy the 'peripheral vision' format of Gears Of War. Seems too easy for people to sneak up on you from the side, also it is farcical when two people are blindly thrashing their knives around because they cannot see someone 2 yards away.

Hopefully Activision will sort out a more stable server than Infinity Ward managed to.

There is a 3rd person mode on the multi player for MW2 KR and if they wanted to do that they would have to bring in a "cover mode" like Gears and Rainbow 6imo.

I hated it for MW2, it felt awkward and unnatural lol!

Im addicted to this game! just about to hit prestige for the 2nd time!
