I am having the same problem Tev

You can avoid uploading all files apart from the current one downloading by moving them out of your download folder - that is all I have come up with so far but havent been looking too hard for a solution.

Bittorrent allows you to set the upload/download rate, i have download set to max, and upload set to almost nothing,

I have done that too...I have received a couple of emails regarding copyright breach because of the uploads though
Report Tevez is God • January 9, 2010 8:16 AM GMT
Limewire you can set to not allow any uploads but sometimes it takes overnight to download a film :(

If you set it at none/really low uploads your download speed will be really poor.

IMO give up using torrents and look into usenet. Might (in fact most probably) cost you a few quid but it's well worth it for downloads at 100% of your connection speed all the time and (even more) minimal risk of being done for piracy.

Agree with that SN, I have an account with easynews and can get almost anything at good speeds, costs around $10USD a month.
Report Tevez is God • January 9, 2010 8:25 AM GMT
how do you download stuff on usenet?
Report Joel • January 9, 2010 8:28 AM GMT
It's in binary newsgroups, your ISP probably has them but many things will be incomplete.

If everyone set it not to upload, then nobody would be able to download.

Kinda defeats the purpose...Set it to 10 or 15

Newsgroups/Usenet are/is great. I use Astraweb and have just grabbed 180Gb worth of downloads for about £16. Try that before setting up a monthly account. I have posted the link below about 5 times on here but it is worth trying.

Can 2 PCs connected to one router use the same usenet account or do you have to pay twice?
