Marrakech...anybody been there?

A workmate got mugged there.

Went in 1976 , don't remember much to be honest ,was in Morrocco for 8 weeks, stayed in Again, and Anchor point, recall goats in trees , and prossies in Ceuta , that's about all .

most people visit the reservoir up on the city walls /heights for photos ..
there is a nice Hotel westerners can visit (half way down main street ) that has like Roman/Egyptian columns in the pool ,(probably fakes) . it is so Hot there you will be very glad of using the pool ...

you ae gauranteed the sun ..

I will never choose to go back ..

I stayed in agadir for most of my trip ..

Started in Agadir for something like a week / 10 days

The Teenage Muslim kids were all Jeans , Walkmans , roller skates ..
racing round on their BMX bikes, etc ...coca cola ...unsupervised ...all having a good laugh --smiling faces ...mixing with each other and trying to chat to Westerners ...mingling with Westerners as they went about their socialising .etc ,
Travelled inland to Marrakhech ..all Taliban types ...
Women in Burkhas , no females on the street except ones 2 yards behind their husband ..
it was like ...2Oth century versus 100BC ... :-(

It might have changed in the last decade ...





Agadir might be like that now :^0

I went on a company function on a incentive trip (Prize)
50 went stayed in 5 * hotel with golf course, and 27 people came back with food poisoning.

Would not go again !!
