Hey,

I am looking at getting a new supped up PC - and need some help. I currently have a P4 3.4ghz processor with 1GB ram - the thing is slow as hell and when I have more than one window opened with java running (i.e betting sites live markets and tennis sb's) the whole thing locks up!!!

I was thinking something like 4 or 8GB ram - but what would be a REALLY good processor? - anyone know any good ebay sellers / websites that can be trusted?

Ta.
;)

I am not an expert, far from it, but I am swatting up myself on a new one and so thought I'd share this with you.

Apparently if you want more than 4Gb of Ram, then you need to upgrade to a 64Bit version of windows operating system. Do check this out, as it can add cost on.

From the sounds of it, you require a fast processor and plenty of Ram, and save money on a graphics card and size of HD, (assuming you dont play games or download by the bucketload).

yeah jim henson,

i never use the PC for gaming at all. Simply for internet (betting, p0rn etc) and office apps.

I do also do d/l quite a bit, but not mega amounts. will check out the 8gb thing.

Which OS are you using?

For what you use it for I think that a memory upgrade would sort the problem out.

i use Windows XP mate. I hate all these new 'fancy' operating systems aswell - just feel they clog up the PC even more.

The clues are all there: 'porn' and 'slow as hell'.

You don't need a monster PC and don't fall for all of the hype.
