Beeing a bit (?) older than most on here, I can enlighten you. There correct sequence is Breakfast, Dinner (around mid-day) and Supper. Supper was the main meal of the day and usually eaten before dark while you could still see.
There should be no 'Luncheon' or 'Tea'. People didn't have the time or the food for such frivolous fancies. They were created by idle upper cl;ass women who had to fit in too many Dinnerr appointments into their Oh-so-busy lifestyle! |

No tea? :(
Good God, man, DID THE EMPIRE MEAN NOTHING? I breakfast and take lunch, tea and dinner. If I anticipate a little meal in the evening with close friends, then I invite them for some supper. No tea indeed .... FIRE! |

This is all pretentious showboating from people on this thread.
I have it on good authority that all meals in the Orioles household are referred to as 'scran' |

I agree with Charlie.
I don't like all this Dinnertime being about 1pm and teatime being 5ish. It's lunch and then dinner. |

Well most people call it supper now, only now and again do people have full blown dinner parties which go on all evening until somtimes after midnight, breakfast anytime you like lunch should be at noon, tea which is say somthing like tea cakes and tea to drink,at 4pm, now we say supper anytime from 7/8pm.We no longer live in the good old days. This is how it was, as when I was a child we had a butler and housekeeper.
