Crown lager a good one from Australia
I don't mind bud. European/Mexican stye beers are ok, butnot with lime in. Stella is good Prob overall go for something like Budvar. Has to be strong though imo unlike bitter where i don't mind the old 3.8% stuff. The worst are fosters and carling unfortunately, never drink them. |

Last summer I was in Threshers looking for some chilled bitter or pale ale in cans.
Threshers fridge was chockablock with Carling and (I think) Fosters, row after row of it. I asked the manager why there wasn't any bitter or pale ale in the fridge. He told me that their stocking policy was dictated by head office, and that they could only put those particular branded lagers in the fridge. However he did have some bitter out the back, which he duly toddled off to fetch for me. If I hadn't bothered to ask I wouldn't have known and would have left the shop without buying. 6 months later they are in liquidation. No wonder. It causes me near-physical pain that in a nation built on beer and brewing some of the world's finest ales, that any sane Briton can honestly claim to prefer the anodyne marketing man's confection that is "Bud". |
