I was 40 last year and have to admit to finding it a bit difficult to come to terms with. I'm cool now, but didn't like it. Always been a bit vain and there is no way you can dress being 40 up as anything other than being at the start of middle age!

And walking down the street, women in their 20s who would normally have looked at me in the past now walk straight past without a glance!

Can't understand why anyone cares.Getting older is inevitable unless you would rather be dead. I have a full head of hair except on the days when I go to the hairdresser and at the finish they hold up this picture of some blokes bald head taken from the back.I just nod to keep them happy

I'm sixty in a few weeks. My kids want to do some c rap to mark it as people do these days.No chance. Its B/S.Its a number. There isn't a day when you suddenly turn into an old cnut.Old cnuts are born old.
Report jack12321 • January 4, 2010 11:32 PM GMT
I don't wanna get old :(

Not making much use of being younger though, don't really know how to. Tips from those wishing they'd done more when they were younger?
Report Dobbo • January 4, 2010 11:37 PM GMT
Thats like wishing it wouldn't rain.
As for regrets I wish now I had worked for forty years and paid into a pension plan and will be paid out at the end of the month.

Well the last ten words are true.
