And one of the Phoenix Lander which got me thinking.
Its only 3 metres across, not much bigger than a human. If we can photograph that then why haven't we photographed the Apollo missions with the same detail? I've no doubt the man landed on the Moon so I'm not trying to defend any hoax theories.
I was looking at pics of Mars last nighthttp://hirise.lpl.arizona.edu/images/2008/details/cut/PSP_005558_9040_cut_b.jpgEarth and Moon from Mars.http://hirise-test.lpl.arizona.edu/images/2008/details/cut/PSP_008591_2485_cut_e.jpgAnd one of the Phoenix
Its not of the same clarity though. Mars is a bigger world, the orbiter would be at a higher height from the surface and also have an atmosphere to look through.
I'm curious as to why the Moon hasn't been mapped in such detail yet its a lot closer than Mars.

Not that I'm arguing Oval, but the Martian atmosphere is not very thick (100th of ours?), and it isn't that much bigger than the moon. I should imagaine the orbiter has much higher resolution imaging capabilities than the last things which went round the moon.
