i am sure i wouldn't agree with most of the songs on the list, but mr. bright side is an amazing song, and wouldn't be too far off the best song of the last 10 years

Mr Brightside not even the best song on the album (imo, of course!)
Report Live Forever • January 4, 2010 1:47 PM GMT
It's voted for by listeners who by definition will mostly be young people with limted knowledge of anything released before 2002 or so.

Who cares what it says. All such lists are b-ll0cks.

how can it possibly top song of the decade when there are tracks from 3 different decades in the list

Report ya' havin' that one dave • January 4, 2010 2:16 PM GMT
worst list i have ever seen, apart from mr bright side i wouldn't call any of those songs great, and champagne supernova by oasis in there at no. 23, ridiculous, its an awful song, and as for wont get fooled again at no.83, laughable. it's one of the best songs ever
Report cdog • January 4, 2010 2:48 PM GMT
There are some great songs in that list.
Report Easter 1916 • January 4, 2010 2:52 PM GMT
agreed. at least 4.
Report duncan idaho • January 4, 2010 2:53 PM GMT
Given the ready availability of music on the net nowadays, the kids need a good kick up the backside if that's their idea of the 100 best ever
Report John Leslie • January 4, 2010 2:59 PM GMT
For a self-proclaimed alternative radio station that list is a joke. Unless i've missed them how can there be no Pixies or no Uncle Tupelo, yet there is loads of sh1t by bands who are basically poor imitations. Why don't the youth of today try listening to some of the bands who influenced their two bob heroes, rather than just buying the same old tired rubbish?
Report HRH The Lager Khan • January 4, 2010 3:18 PM GMT
I am the resurrection seems to have 2 songs by the completely talentless Libertines above it - some sort of dodgy hearing epidemic I wasn't aware of has clearly swept the nation.

Muse are good, but not that good...
Report Jimbo747 • January 4, 2010 3:22 PM GMT
No REM or offspring in top 100? Walofs.
Report Jimbo747 • January 4, 2010 3:24 PM GMT
And no Dandy Warhols! I'm shaking with rage here!
Report Nirvana • January 4, 2010 3:24 PM GMT
Did anyone over 16 vote in this poll?
Report DaveEdwards • January 4, 2010 3:24 PM GMT
Oasis at Number 3 and yet Marvin Gaye - Heard It Through The Grapevine doesn't make top 100?????

Green Day, wtf?

How on earth was this list compiled?
Report Alex69 • January 4, 2010 3:31 PM GMT
I think the fact that half of the top ten were released in the last few years knocks its validity/importance/credibility severely. Like all spurious 'all time' lists there are some good 'uns there coupled with some 'shocking omissions' (c) betfair forum speak.
Report Alex69 • January 4, 2010 3:32 PM GMT
(...and some total sh!t - 'sex on fire' - oh dear, very poor)
Report billy hill • January 4, 2010 4:53 PM GMT
Used to like XFM driving to work but then moved out of the area. I heard it has gone downhill a lot the last few years with daytime being jukebox requests.

Also strange to hear Chris Smith doing radio1 news bulletins now. Bad the way Virgin dumped him from the breakfast show
Report cunnybobbler • January 4, 2010 5:01 PM GMT
just a day isnt even feeders best song
Report sixtwosix • January 4, 2010 5:20 PM GMT
10 years ago listeners to John Peel chose Atmosphere by Joy Division as the best song ever.
Look at the 21st century dross that is now apparantly superior to this & many others .

This generation are easily pleased me thinks.
