I use to like Chris Cornell but he seems like he's become a bit of a** now, his solo stuff was dreadful too.

Chris Cornell is one of the best vocalists I've ever heard. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

I saw Alice In Chains at Brixton in December on their new tour with a new lead singer and they were fantastic. The fact that Soundgarden still have all their members alive and well might make it easier for em. I guess it depends on if they do a new album or just a tour.

Jesus Christ Pose is immense.

The album "superunkown" will probabaly be forever in my top 10 albums. If they can get near that standard again i'll be pleased.

Agreed. Hopefully he's still as good as he was.

FANFLAMINGTASTICAL NEWS!

Happy bloody new year!

Any rock fan not owning a copy of Superunknown really should sell their soul/kids/major organs to rectify this. Were always superb libe and Cornell has one of the great voices. I am mildly chuffed by this development.

I always preferred Badmotorfinger. Both albums are sublime though.

Great band.

Saw them live back in the day and I though Chris' vocals were ropey to say the least. Press release indicates that all 4 members are back together which includes Matt Cameron and then leads to the Pearl Jam question.

any chance of a support slot at Hyde Park btw?

Pearl Jam supported by Soundgarden would render all future gigs pointless, in fact it would be better than sex. It would almost be better than sex with me, if indeed that were possible - which it isn't.

The 90's are back.

Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins - happy days indeed.

I remember thinking last year that a grunge revival is round the corner. Some new band in Leeds whose name escapes me are very grunge, while future of the left are also of that ilk.

Musical trends being what they are, the current 80's electronic revival will be followed by young pups with guitars singing about being angry to be followed by a britpop revival in 2012.

Expect Stone Temple Pilots to reform in the next 6 months, a new bumper version of Nevermind, Smashing Pumpkins to reform and Frances Bean Cobain's album to debut at number 1.

A tour of Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice In Chains would be so immense it would be untrue. I guess it's not totally improbable as they're all friends and have played together many times before.

Vedder and Cornell could bust out some Temple Of The Dog songs too. I'm almost salivating....

Don't get my hopes up like that :(

I do apologise....

Some Mad Season could work too.

Ok. Must stop now... :p
