Many months ago South Wales police withdrew regular patrols of the M4 (cost-cutting) and no longer respond to minor incidents. What an excellent move - the drive is far more pleasant now , everythign runs much more smoothly and there have been NO adverse effects (no increase in accidents as far as I know). The slow still drive slowly, the moderate still drive sensibly and those who wish to press on can watch the road ahead instead of playing 'spot the patrol car'. Recommended for all!
Camera vans are still in random use of course - and what difference the 110mph nutters (not that I've seen any. It's the routine driving up and down, sitting around bends and up slip-roads that's stopped. You're suggesting that some will now drive at 110 that wouldn't have before?
