1p
10p £10 £50 10k 15k 75k 250k and she takes an offer of 10k!! and then immediately takes out the 250k. It's definitely not fixed though. |

Seals with boxes.........should be called...
|
|
By:
it is strange that about 33 people picked to play have had the 1p in there box, as opposed to about 3 that have had the 250,000.
|
|
By:
And that's what makes Betfair a profitable to place to visit.

Two tos there which is rather too many.

Hull: Thats almost mathematically impossible M8.
Do we mean took the £250,000 because I'm sure there were 2 successive days a little while ago where both successive players had the £250,000 but bottled it. |

Don't hit me lovely Lisa..but....the biggest miracle is that 2 Women have one the large amount and either No or,maybe, 1 Man when a much higher ratio of Men are Risk-Takers.
|
|
By:
You too seem to be confusing what they have and what they open. As for 2 women getting the £250,000, one of those barely had a decision to make - offered the "Banker's Gamble" when she'd settled at about 17000 with 1p and £25000 left.
This game isn't fixed but the contestants certainly should**it to maximise the value in their game. It's a great ** crying out to be done. |

Yes! Lisa!
I vividly recall the farce of the "shrewd" Banker offering £250k when she had already took £17,000.!! I STILL maintain its fixed though! Why? If they chose the player first and then he/she chose their box out of 22, on display then no fiddle, obviously. But someone KNOWS whats in each box and who has each box so that "someone" could be the same chooser of who plays on that day! The key to bottling it is when a Man, in particular either brings his Lady to the front ( who, invariably) advise caution or when The Man looks fondly at the Family photo and feels guilty about carrying on and "gambling"..either of those 2 scenarios and its the end f the game. Can you imagine a Man looking lovingly at his Family and thinking "feck them!" I'm GOING to gamble! |
|
By:
Conspiracy theories re the person putting the amounts in the boxes also chosing the contestant don't stand up to examination of the stats of the show. (See the dedicated websites).
The man/woman thing is a red-herring. The numbers involved when the £250,000 is in the mix are simply too small to be of any mathematical use. The key to the show is the value of the box at any one time, and it's this that the contestants working together should use to their advantage. |
|
By:
Nevertheless in show after show the "bold" Man suddenly plays safe in 90% of the cases when he chooses to engage or involve his Partner,Lisa.
I've watched 90% of the shows and its a recurring theme. |

1p
10p £10 £50 10k 15k 75k 250k How may women know the odds of what the next 3 picks could bring ? They rely on luck, not odds. |
|
By:
The recurring theme is people selling their box for alot less than its value because of the fear of walking away with nothing.
It's like: If you owned a car worth £20,000 but you were skint - nothing else to your name, would you sell it for £10,000. It's making that decision and the emotion behind it that has made the game a success. People underestimate DOND - you see it on here regularly. It's a brilliant format and people who buy/sell on Betfair markets should watch it. There's alot to be learned. |

Some of the offers early on are ludicrous.
Big 3 still there and he offers £5k and the contestant says ' Thank you mr banker, thats a great offer, but no deal.' I'd say ' youravinlarfencha ? ' |
|
By:
The Contestants MUST be told to say certain things or act a certain way.
Exanple: Contestant removes the 10pence or the 50pence and is pleased. Same player removes the "1p" and goes berserk!..as do The Pilgrims and the other Players! |

I think it's "fixed" in that the boxes are loaded based on what the contestants have said in the p1ss up in the hotel the night before.
Apparently they all meet - together with the banker and other members of the team - and talk about what they would do with the money/what their strategy will be/what their lucky numbers are/when their birthdays are etc etc.The boxes are then loaded accordingly. The things said in that booze up are the reasons why the massively differing offers are made. The girl tonight had obviously gave away that she needed the money and would take a lousy offer. What are the chances(for you experts) of that girl not picking out the 250k in the first 14 goes, then dealing at 10k,then taking out the 250k with the next go? On Tuesday the lad had continually no dealed and got a true offer. It is certainly manipulated,if not fixed. |
|
By:
The boxes are loaded and then the contestants "chose" their number using numbered table tennis balls, ie. randomly.

There's nowhere to start with that question. There's a name for that kind of poser it and I can't remember what it is. However, the only relevant part would be the last bit. If she's arrived at 8 box with the £250,000 out there, then she's precisely 7-1 to knock it out with her next guess. |
|
By:
Yes Lisa, but the amounts were put in to the boxes based on what they've said.
They say that the adjudicator knows what's in the boxes. Why? Why does anyone need to know what's in the boxes. If you don't think it's manipulated/fixed can you explain why the 250 or 100k seem to be taken out later than chance would allow for? |

stop wasting your life watching this garbage

Nowhere to start Lisa?
Well, the chance of her not taking out the 250k on the first go is 1-22 and then 1-21 on the 2nd go etc etc. |

If you don't think it's manipulated/fixed can you explain why the 250 or 100k seem to be taken out later than chance would allow for? The first part of your post puzzles me - the amounts are the same for every show. The boxes are the same. Randomly the contestants get a box. Neither they nor the production team control which box they get. Why does the "adjudicator" need to know? To fit the cards in the boxes so the amount is visible when the box opens. Any other method would have to be either electronic or involve sealed envelopes within the box. I think you answered the last part yourself. "Why the 250 or 100k seem... In reality they don't and if you don't believe me all the stats are available on the net. |
|
By:
I'm pretty sure that the large boxes are sometimes put in the games of Players that they KNOW,logically, won't go for it.
That keeps the percentage up of "250k" Boxes being on the table. As I said the players already have their boxes in front of them and someone knows who has got what on each day as someone( at least one person) put them there in the first place. Whats to stop them choosing who they want or telling the person in the organisation who does choose. Wouldn't mind betting its Noel's money as he is Multi..lol I DO like the game though.. |

stop wasting your life watching this garbage Sometimes really good lessons in subjects, (in this case probability, stats and the psychology of gambling), are handed out free of charge and people miss them or chose to ignore them. Others learn. |

I'm pretty sure that the large boxes are sometimes put in the games of Players that they KNOW,logically, won't go for it. In a teensy way this is getting frustrating: Neither the production team nor the contestants know which box they'll get. It's done like this. They chose a ping pong ball with a number on it at random and then pick up the corresponding box and go on set with it. In case you're wondering I met someone in my hairdressers who's been on the show. Poor sod - I grilled them for the whole cut. |

Lisa
1 . 22 unmarked empty boxes in a room. 2. Man goes in with 22 pieces of card with different amounts on them and glues them to the underside of the lids of those boxes and closes the lids. 3.Different man goes in to that room and is faced with 22 unmarked boxes. He sticks on to the boxes pieces of card numbered 1 to 22. Nobody knows what is the boxes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Link please to these stats. |
|
By:
Yes but Lisa (lol)...they DO choose the boxes at random as you know!....however someone knows what is in each box and which contestant has got which box on any given day.
They then choose which player they want as they know "Fred" has chosen Number 1 and Lisa-Number 2 etc.... |
|
By:
Whats to stop the person who has put the amounts in eaxh box telling whoever makes the decision who has got what AFTER they have all, ADMITTEDLY, chosen their box at random.
|
|
By:
Yep - that would work Gene.
It doesn't mean the current method is being compromised. Simpley Google deal or no deal stats - you get 79 million hits. The ilovedealornodeal website used to have a record of every box opened, in order, for every show. I assume it still does. Deal or no Deal is used widely to study people in the field of risk aversion behaviour. Those that dismiss it as a waste of time are missing a learning opportunity imo. |
|
By:
What have you learned then Lisa, that would assist you in betting on here?
