Miss June Sarpong was the tender age of 29, when receiving her MBE for services to broadcasting (and charity).

Mind you the Michael Jackson Seance program with Dereck Acorah on Sky1, broke boundaries

I totally agree with you. He wasn't that good either was world champion by way of the others having early season problems
Report positively4thsteet • December 31, 2009 7:14 AM GMT
He consistently outdrove barrichello who was in the same car. F1 is one of the biggest sports in the world and he won the whole thing. wd button imo.

Button is a stupid name and subsquently deserves fck hall
Report Six of Clubs • December 31, 2009 7:36 AM GMT
personally i dont agree with him getting an mbe but it doesnt bother me either.
Report fkqmz • December 31, 2009 8:13 AM GMT
ross brawns recognition is more laughable. apparently his years of experience and many championships with bennetton and ferrari were not enough to warrant an MBE, but make a brit a world champions and the world is yours.
Report Percy Filth • December 31, 2009 8:20 AM GMT
At leasr Ian Wright has one, for services to er.....
Report positively4thsteet • December 31, 2009 8:37 AM GMT
Ian Wright was a top notch striker and good lad. Button F1 world champ. what's the problem, when you look at some of the cn.uts that get knighted can't begrudge these two getting some recognition.
Report fkqmz • December 31, 2009 8:40 AM GMT
yeah as far as JB goes, hes had near on 10 years of keeping his nose clean, is reasonably popular and has actually achieved something after a long and difficult career. MBE (hardly a knighthood) is probably fair enough. I think Damon Hill is one isnt he?
Report Win only - Sp only • December 31, 2009 8:44 AM GMT
ian wright got his for his faultless presenting of cracking bbc1 entertainment shows

OBEs for Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt

Long overdue imo :)
Report Shab • December 31, 2009 10:47 AM GMT
According to Wiki:

Like many Formula One drivers, Button resides in the principality of Monaco

So he is a tax **, and we reward him.

What an absolute JOKE.

Ian Wright was a top notch striker and good lad

I always thought he was bit of a thug on the pitch.

There are many top notch strikers and good lads who haven't been given any honours
Report Don No1 • December 31, 2009 11:51 AM GMT
Great striker and did a fair bit of charity work I believe, very worthy
Report positively4thsteet • December 31, 2009 11:53 AM GMT
