Look at a map. Which country is between Iraq and Afghanistan? There's your answer.
Report themover • December 29, 2009 1:40 PM GMT
In Iraq still looking for WMD - Blair said they were there somewhere so they must be. In Afghanistan looking for a bloke that was in a cave..or the previous poster could be right ;)

History could suggest, it`s deep-rooted in the basic DNA of the English, and those of English origin to take something that doesn`t belong to them, and attempt to justify all atrocities by smear-campaigns, lies and the spreading of false rumours regarding whoever finds themselves on the receiving end of their military might..........buy personally, I couldn`t possibly comment.

We went in to Afghanistan to wipe out the terrorist training grounds that produced the likes of the 9/11 and 7/11 bombers...
Report Splicer Keats • December 29, 2009 2:15 PM GMT
Because we @rse lick the usa.
Report themover • December 29, 2009 2:18 PM GMT
Are these terrorist training camps still there or are they all gone now?
Report AV8 • December 29, 2009 2:19 PM GMT
They`re gone, we`re safe now.

I recall a lot of the poppy fields were blasted in the beginning which seemed a sensible policy to me. Is this still the case or are they producing again?
Report Petrus Romanus • December 29, 2009 2:38 PM GMT
Let us not forget that Pakistan has nukes...if we let the bad guys get their sh!t together and they get hold of one the knockers on here will be begging for some military types to save your candy little @rses.
Report Ivor • December 29, 2009 2:48 PM GMT
The poppy fields provide essential work and income - they ARE producing again and we are turning our blind eye.
Report themover • December 29, 2009 3:00 PM GMT
Isn't that a bit like authorising a bankrobber to rob a bank as it's a source of income :p

Anfield.........We're in Iraq & Afghanistan because, contrary to our beliefs,we live in a dictatorship NOT a 'free' country,we're duped into believing that because we vote to choose our leaders,we're able to control our own destiny .....WELL WHAT A FEKKIN JOKE !!!
We're led by a load of t0$$ers of the highest order and as for Blair well he should swing like Saddam

by the way.......... i before e except after c !!

and have a look to the west as well while you're at it. you'll find a politically unstable, muslim nation with nuclear weapons.

this happened 6 hours after the twin towers collapsed without being hit by planes & I don't care what anyone says I can see with my own eyes what happens in this footage...........THEY TOOK US TO WAR
ON LIES & CORRUPTION

I watched a pretty good documentary last night about that very event....Tower 7 collapsed due to fire caused by the burning adjacent towers, nothing sinister from what I saw...but again I was watching tv footage much the same as you...we weren't there like the fireman I watched giving what I thought was an honest account of what happened there at the time.

Don't think it was.....ur mind's obviously made up so who am I to try and change it ?

There's a zillion conspiracy theories out there for all kinds of things...it's a very interesting theatre but there's not enough time to sift through the 'did they, didn't they' facts/fiction. Personally I think we should leave Iraq alone and let them self destruct...not sure yet about Afghanistan but we now have The Yemen to look forward to following that fvckwit's attempt to blow up flight 253 from Amsterdam. It's never gonna end but I'll bet a pound to a pinch of pigsh!t that if we pulled out totally from all theatres of operation the radicals would not stop blowing us up for one second.
Report Putitinabox&sellit • December 29, 2009 4:35 PM GMT
Swearbox-agree we cannot pull out-we'll never be able to - there will come a point when we're so overstretched militarily that nuclear weapons will be considered (if they arn't already) which is why the fact that we ever went in in the 1st place is so incomprehensible - we've laid the foundations for armageddon for sure which is exactly what Al Quaida wanted..........we fell straight into the trap and there's no way out
Report Petrus Romanus • December 29, 2009 4:43 PM GMT
...ur missing the most important bit...we have the nukes and they currently don't...I think that is the crux of the matter...
Report Guybrush Threepwood • December 29, 2009 5:05 PM GMT
They are in Afganistan to stop all those terrorists bringing down planes, just like that Nigerian last week, who as far as we know have never set foot on Afganistan. Oh wait .... :-)

The oil's cheap surely!!!

Apparently we are out there because if we ever defeat the taliban we will find Osama in a remote cave somewhere. It was suggested that we would be allowed to enter Pakistan and this would make things a hell of a lot easier. Trouble is that was suggested by Benazir Bhuto and looked what happened.
Report evingolis • December 29, 2009 9:58 PM GMT
well the drugs pay for black ops and secret wars.
oh, and the new american, permanent, military bases- they're never leaving- are a reminder to the chinese and russians of the american desire for full spectrum dominance. the british are equally criminally compliant in these illegal "wars".
