Not so bad now, 18 bottles of Stella and a 70cl bottle of Smirnoff, it used to be 100+ pints a week.

I've no doubt jockey's telling the truth. Face it - his postings are the terminal ramblings of a near-dead alkie. If, hypothetically, one was writing his biography, you'ld want 90% of the fee up-front.

It's a real bummer when most types of alcohol cause you pain to drink or just taste bad. I don't recall signing a paper to that end when I was young.
Report armchair jockey wilson!! • December 27, 2009 12:09 AM GMT

It was probably a drink for ice dragons, ajw. Easy mistake to make.
Report bodil • December 27, 2009 12:15 AM GMT
I passed through the cider phase a long while ago - it was cheap, packed a punch and tasted OK. And came in those convenient 3l plastic bottles.

What you really have to ask yourselves is "do I have somethng better to do?"
Report SNOOCH • December 27, 2009 12:18 AM GMT

3 afterwork most nights a week. Plus 10 on Friday min. Plus 10 on Sat.

When dieting, tit all in the week and 4 pints at weekends. I can enjoy both - earn the beer etc so enjoy it more.

What new bird has told me - drink what you want and show how much you care about me!! Tonight I dont care, I can lie to her tomorrow after that I wont do it again (not the right attitude I know) I want to turn over a new leaf and I do like her a lot. Honesty can wait a few days.

Hope she doesnt know but a few days ago I didnt know her name!

As for 100 pints plus a weekend. I can believe that and I think everyone knows someone who drinks that much. But we all feel sorry for them. I hope you find the boy/girl that you are happy with. 100 pints will give you diabetes if not worse!

Jockey Wilson that is up to you. I hope that you enjoy your full physical capabilities that you dont truly mean that.

I have learnt there is still a turning point - after the doctor said I had the body of a 40 year old 3 years ago I sorted myself out. Not an athlete but now feeling great and much better for the early warning whether it was true or not.

I can see why though - buttons almost popping from my shirt.

Have to say taking sport again was the best I have done. Quittig beer was horrible to begin with - got used to it - body improved so not a problem had a few beers at weekends and now feel like a tit being awake as late as this because I know I shouldnt be doing it.

No offence intended, Jockey Wilson. I were drinking one of my Christmas presents when I called you a pooff and I'm sorry I said it now.

You're just a bit depressed mate, it can happen to anybody. Get yourself off to the doctor and see what pills he's got and try very hard to make a major change in your life. Joining a club or moving house or job or something takes you out of yourself and lifts your spirits because you meet new people.

Best regards and I'm sorry for what I said.

Just read Gallivanter above and hope all goes well for you and your wife in the new year. I cherish life as well although I'm doing my best to feck it up.

Jockay, I certainly couldn't give it up but I've knocked midweek drinking on the head. With a bit of will power I know I could stop drinking altogether but I enjoy it, Saturday's especially is my football day. My new year resolution is first to cut boozing on a Sunday out altogether then a Friday. I've no plans on giving Saturday's up.

Despite my username I'm normal weight and eat healthily and exercise moderately but the weekend boozing will probably cut 10 years off my life. I wouldn't mind having some time with my Grandkids (if/ when they arrive)
