My favourite band of all time. The concert I booked was postponed until Feb next year when Dave was ill. 'Never Let me down again' is always a stormer live. Wave those arms in the air! :-)

I went to the NEC on sunday to see them and they were fantastic, enjoy
Report Reyes • December 18, 2009 9:03 AM GMT
guess you just can't get enough of this band
Report RoyClaytonsTash • December 18, 2009 9:09 AM GMT
You'd better set off now or else you'll enjoy the silence
Report Journeyman • December 18, 2009 9:17 AM GMT
Not the same since Alan Wilder left. Basically just a cabaret band now.

Albeit a cabaret band with some great 80s tunes.

Shall i take glow stick?
Report Journeyman • December 18, 2009 9:40 AM GMT
Glowstick is too cheesy but a lighter would be too serious.

Get the balance right.
Report casmaelscouse • December 18, 2009 9:40 AM GMT
saw them in 1987 at the Newport Centre.....brilliant

A great band. not many bands from the 80's can play stadiums and remain popular for over 30 years.
the band deserve more credit
Report Alex69 • December 18, 2009 12:36 PM GMT
Excellent band Depeche Mode. Enjoy it. Saw 'em @ Whitley Bay ice rink (considered an 'arena' venue back in the day) in 1986! I'm off to see Doves tonight.
Report Journeyman • December 18, 2009 1:05 PM GMT
The guy with the glasses doesn't actually play anything. He's not a musician!
Yet has managed to make a fortune for thirty years purely because he's the wee blonde guy's mate.
Just waves his arms about, mimes and takes the mug cash.

The last time they were anything approaching a real band was the Devotional tour of the early 90s.
(Which was admittedly very good indeed)
Report Saslokk • December 18, 2009 1:08 PM GMT
Saw them 2 days ago in London.
Really good of course, but I could have wished for hearing Everything Counts.
But cant complain, Depeche is value for money, everytime.
Report Arsene • December 18, 2009 2:42 PM GMT
First saw them in 1982 and seen them every tour since. Went to Birmingham last Sunday and O2 on Tuesday.

QUALITY!
Report Slippy Blue • December 18, 2009 2:58 PM GMT
Seen them lots of times, they are quite superb live. It´s No Good is probably my favourite song by them but could pick any one of dozens, top band.
Report Mully • December 19, 2009 9:38 AM GMT
Very good show! :-)

We call it, Master & Servant...doo, doo, doo
Report Buffy • December 19, 2009 9:41 AM GMT
Arsene, I think we were meant to be together. Depeche Mode and the beautiful gunners. :x
Report Reyes • December 19, 2009 9:42 AM GMT

Report Buffy • December 19, 2009 9:44 AM GMT
Of course you can Reyes. Volunteer work is very rewarding. ;-)
Report HRH The Lager Khan • December 19, 2009 9:52 AM GMT

Report thelibertine • December 19, 2009 1:19 PM GMT
The contract still intact.
Report Journeyman • December 19, 2009 3:16 PM GMT
The grabbing hands grab all they can
hundreds of thousands of pounds a night
for playing backing tapes of a bunch of songs
from 1986 and 1987. With the exact same performance.

Tonight Matthew I'm going to sing Stripped again for the 23000th time

For that paycheck Dave, I don't blame you.
Just make sure not to laugh at them till you get offstage.
Report Mully • December 24, 2009 11:08 AM GMT
Journey-you card! :D

Bonjour Buffy,

Avez vous un joyeux Noel et Come On You Gunners!
Report HRH The Lager Khan • December 24, 2009 11:14 AM GMT
Journey - DM's sound is essentially Dave's voice (which still sounds pretty good live if you are up close enough to hear it) over layered keyboards. The DM live experience was never about elongated drum and guitar solo's. Admitedly it is more of a performance than a bunch of musicians playing together in the traditional sense, but surely that is the case with a lot of electronic based music.

10m germans cant be wrong
Report HRH The Lager Khan • December 24, 2009 11:29 AM GMT
I think vast numbers of germans have got 'previous' at being wrong Sir Denis. :(
Report Mully • December 24, 2009 11:30 AM GMT
Their main trick these days is to get the audience to sing most of the songs. Don't blame them really lol.
Report Sir Denis Eton-Hogg • December 24, 2009 11:34 AM GMT
is you saying depeche mode are racialist?
