Always good to turn the corner.

Now, when one of those boring old fart domino players down the pub says "the nights are fair drawing in", I'll be able to tell him he's talking bolllocks.

The nights have been drawing out for a week already, the mornings though continue to get darker, until the 7th of January, when they start to get lighter as well.

Today is the shortest day overall because from now on, the evenings will be drawing out faster than the mornings are still drawing in.

In the middle of June the whole thing goes back into reverse.

But true Winter doesn't really set in until January and February, delayed Coreolis effect innit.
