I am 33 years old and I have twice been refused wine in M&S stores in the last six months. On both occasions, the woman "serving" me was at least ten years younger than me, and very ugly.

The moral of this (and canny's original) story is: do not shop at M&S. They employ thickos.

I was refused alcohol at an Asda when I was 27, 2 years ago, the check-girl was 20 years older and extremely fat

What I do now is when I get to the check out is ask the cashier for ID first.

Surprisingly the check-out girl didn't reply "'kin 'ell, that's as funny as being told to present a frog at your birthday while having your schlοng up my fυt".

To be fair , knowledge of history is of no real benefit , any more so than knowing where Manchester City finished in 1976 .

We need to teach folk how to think and problem solve rather than fill their heads with pointless facts and figures about the past.
