Is that honestly all??

Prob gonna stop playing now then would be absolutely gutted if i hit 5 numbers and only netted less than a grand
Report Angela Rebecchi • December 16, 2009 9:56 PM GMT
mate went ballistic, had to calm them down, his tart said i was being a party pooper. she looks like a right** now... anyone know the exact amount... they still dont believe me... think theyre nailing each other next door as we speak! any official site i can show them when they finish (he wont be long never usually is!)
Report Dick Quax • December 16, 2009 10:05 PM GMT
Last 4 Wednesdays, 5 numbers would have netted:

£2,763
£1,369
£315 :0
£701
Report silverwasp • December 16, 2009 10:08 PM GMT
nailing each other..... is that a good thing ?
Report Brodie • December 16, 2009 10:10 PM GMT
Getting the 5 is annoying. I think per odds it's the worst payoff iirc.
True odds 50k-1 and pickup say £1-2k.
All the other prizes from a tenner up to the jackpot are closer to true odds.
Makes getting the 5 out the 6 even harder to take.
Report owl4life • December 16, 2009 10:12 PM GMT
the lottery is the biggest rip off ever, anyone who plays it needs a lesson in basic maths
Report canaryboy • December 16, 2009 10:14 PM GMT
amazed people on here play it

thought we were sharp minds
Report stevie_p • December 16, 2009 10:17 PM GMT
always a few snidey comments from people on lotto threads.
what boring lives these tools must lead , spouting off mathematics etc,
its the fecking lotto , i know its a rip off but i was in the shop today and decided to buy a lucky dip. simple as that.
what do you people do?
think of the entire risk/reward possibilities and walk away sumg that you kept your pound?
jeez , nothing wrong with sticking a quid on the lotto.
dont think anyone needs medical help like for doing so :)
Report logikal • December 16, 2009 10:17 PM GMT
Yeah i play it but obviously the maths don't add up.

Just think the amount of money i bet on horses or spend on drinks i have when i am out, i may as well have a couple of quid on the lottery in the chance of winning a life changing amount.
Report Nova Sicko • December 16, 2009 10:19 PM GMT
better off on s scratchcard
Report owl4life • December 16, 2009 10:21 PM GMT
thing is nova even if stevie won the lottery he'd spend it on scratchcards
Report Nova Sicko • December 16, 2009 10:23 PM GMT
shoulda permed his selection of 5 with the other 43 as wel (nb)
Report stevie_p • December 16, 2009 10:26 PM GMT
no i would buy a sports car and a mansion and a swimming pool ...doh!
i just want to know the numbers , isnt updated on the site.
maybe when i awake ill be a millionaire and can spend all day scratching away in the garage
Report Brodie • December 16, 2009 10:28 PM GMT
steve, I was sort of sympathising with my boring odds stuff that getting the 5 numbers is particularly cruel in that its so close to the biggy and such a poor pay off to compound the misery.
My life is okay, quite boring but all in all 30/70

better off on s scratchcard

i'd be confident that i've scratched more cards than anyone on betfair. they are absolutely shocking value.
Report stevie_p • December 16, 2009 10:33 PM GMT
30/70 ha ha :)
aye im just being grumpy cos i have a scrunched up ticket and dont know the numbers.
the odds of me going to my jacket , getting the crumpled ticket out and returning to see i have got all 6 numbers after posting about it here must be about 12345678/1
Report Easter 1916 • December 16, 2009 10:37 PM GMT
the odds were bigger than that to start with stevie :)
Report stevie_p • December 16, 2009 10:38 PM GMT
nice one :)
my positive thinking will make this the winning ticket.
will post results in the morning

i never do the lottery, but will do it even less now. a couple of grand ffs!!

What are the chances of getting 5 numbers? just googled it:

chances of 6 = 14 million to 1 average win 2 million quid
5/6 = 55,000 to 1 average win 1500 quid.

why such a big drop?
Report owl4life • December 16, 2009 11:47 PM GMT

http://www.national-lottery.co.uk/player/lotto/results/prizeBreakdown.ftl?drawNumber=1459&drawSequence=0

your mate got £3575 in his pocket when he got 5 numbers up, but for a split second he was a live runner to scoop some or all of the £892k for the bonus ball

this entitlement to a massive bonus payment is why the 5 number winners get a seemingly low payout

158 tickets matched 5 numbers from the main draw, 2 of whom became £440k richer than the rest when the bonus ball came out

a 42/1 shot at that side jackpot is not to be sniffed at, being given that free bet is worth plenty more than £3.5k

in effect he won two prizes, but one of them went up in smoke while he was dancing around the room
Report terry mccann • December 17, 2009 6:03 PM GMT
got to get at least 5 plus the bonus for the real big bucks, but i thought everyone playing would know that?
Report man of many moods • December 17, 2009 6:20 PM GMT
Yep - I got 5 numbers up a few years ago - paid just over 900.

Just one number out on the sixth one :(
Report Ovalman. • December 17, 2009 6:31 PM GMT
I just won £5 on a £2 scratchcard :)
