Engaged once, spent 5 years with another that became a lezzer, various others too complicated to work out, knocked 'em on the head, they're all (90% anyway) mad.

Me (over 50). The longest I ever went out with a girl without thinking I'd like a change was about 6 weeks. Since I had no hankering for kids, it was obvious I was not the marrying type. Unless you're in love and likely to stay that way, I simply cannot see the attraction of sharing your space with the same person for 50+ years, having to compromise with them, answer to them about how you spend the money you earnt etc etc.
I'm not the type to be coerced by social pressure (people might think you're**, which is a big factor in most people's decision to get married.

I can't see myself married at 40. Like that part in about schmidt where he wakes up and looks at his wife in bed beside him and wonders to himself who the hell is that person lying in bed next to me for 40 years. Be afraid of that happening

So, so right - social pressure has a lot to do with people getting married. Me, mid 40s, female (yes really) never married.... lived with a few but never saw the attraction in marriage.

Lived with someone, produced 2 kids, split up and can never see me going down that road again. I like to do what I want when I want, I like not having in laws to dance to. I like wasting my money without having to worry about explaining it. I like sleeping in a double bed on my own, I like not having to care for somebody when they`re sick and vomiting etc. I like having sole control of the remote, and not watching crap like soaps and xfactor. I like looking like an utter slob when I go out if I want, I like looking like an utter slob when I stay in. I like leaving the toilet seat up. I like going to the match/casino/races/gigs/pub without having to ask permission. I like chatting up women without looking over my shoulder.
