Are you follwing a professionals plan? I figure you are as it's based around sorting your knee out.

Been exercising regularly again since April and went from 15'01 to 13'05, mainly through running. Now, I've got a rowing machine in the bedroom, and have started using that too (used to be a demon on the Concept II machine in my younger days).

Why not enter the English Indoor Rowing Championships (details on the Concept 2 Website) in Manchester in February.

Give you something to train / get fit for.

Man, I wasn't that good!

3'17" for 1000m and 8'50" for 2500m

Me neither but 6 weeks training and I did relatively okay at the British Championships last month.

Your 1000m time would translate to excellent on the 4m O'Neill test.
You underestimate yourself.

I have a Personal trainer once a week, to make sure i am doing things correctly, rowing is a killer for me, we do a bleep test, 200 mtrs, 30 second rest in between, start at 55 seconds , i manage to get to 46 then i am almost vomiting , lungs on fire, etc . worst thing in the gym for me, can treadmill or cross train indefinately .

I was about 29 back then....44 now! I've done a few sessions of half an hour on the machine recently, just to get used to it again, and thanks to my running, I've hardly been out of breath. Will start doing some interval sessions on it soon, and see how that goes.

How far do you go on the Ergo in 30 minutes out of interest?
Report Not Sighted • December 16, 2009 7:36 PM GMT
Rowing is great. I could not row for 5 minutes when I started and have completed a marathon in 2hrs 25mins.
Report Not Sighted • December 16, 2009 7:37 PM GMT
That should read 2hrs 55 mins. Bad typo!
