Have fallen once already and have a bloodied hand. We've had freezing fog here for days and it's covered the ground in a film of black ice. Even the roughest road surfaces are like a skating rink. Hospital casualty departments are going to have a busy day.

So what's the best black ice you've ever seen? The best black ice is when the temperature stays below zero. Th worst is when it creeps to just above zero, you get a micrometre of melted ice on top that makes it ultra-slippy. |

yea the other morning there was loads of black ice on the path, its a 25mins walk to work but I gave up after 5mins cos I was going far too slow, and walked back home and booked a taxi instead
