Didn't read it all but the royal tenenbaums is good and city of god should be far higher - great film.

Little Miss Sunshine is lower than the dreadful, sleep inducing Lost In Translation. 'Tis an outrage!

Team America is very funny though and good to see it's top ten.

I agree that Lost In Translation should be much higher up the list. Exellent film.

But the trouble with lists like this is that it's all so subjective. Everyone's personal list will be different so it's all a bit meaningless. My favourite film of the decade is nowhere to be seen!

Of those there on that list that i've seen and thought were very good are;

99 Battle Royale
86 The Orphanage
84 Hotel Rwanda
77 Bowling for Columbine
74 Pans Labyrinth
66 City of God
58 Shaun of the Dead
43 The Dark Knight
32 Gladiator
24 28 Days Later...
18 Let the Right One In
6 Slumdog Millionaire
5 Team America: World Police

very shocked that these didn't make the grade. Top ten material imo.

V for Vendetta
In bruges
Troy

Only ones I've seen from that list are:

Traffic Not at all bad.
Syriana Average, clooney gets o my nerves though
Man on wire Gob**e pretentious french sh.ite. Interesting enough though.
Brokeback Mountain Quite liked this, I know it's a cliche, but i did like the mountain backdrops. I'm not a gayer though.
Borat Funny as fek, top 10 funniest films i've seen i think.
The last king of scotland I liked it and thought whitaker was brilliant (i know its a cliche but he was v.convincing) the little scots c.unt was so irritating, and i know he was supposed to be, that it made the film less good imo.
Team America Quite funny, that's all.

My Summer of Love is quite a sweet film.

Emily Blunt, girl on girl action, Goldfrapp, old fashioned charm.

The orphanage is pretty creepy No.86

An unbelievable list.
Little Miss Sunshine is nearer to an ALL-TIME bottom 100, and the Royal Tenenbaums is about the worst film I've ever had the displeasure to endure. Knocked Up is in this area too.

Yet there were some very good films made in the last 10 years, and many of them are not mentioned.
Stardust, Flushed Away, Kung-Fu Panda, Shrek 2, Little Children, Fracture, The Illusionist, Stranger than fiction, Wild Hogs, Sunshine.
None of these are even in the list!!!!!!

The journalist who came up with the list has either not seen many films, or has no taste or idea.
The only saving grace is that The Departed and Mamma Mia don't feature in this very poor list.
Report madsimon • December 14, 2009 2:47 PM GMT
you always get these arguments on these sorts of lists mainly becasue there is no right answer (apart from 'lost in transaltion' being rubbish of course).

Thats why the lists are made ,to promote debate !!

Persoanlly i liked 'little miss sunshine ' btw -I would put it 44th so there!!

Of those 100 films, I have seen a bit of Wedding Crashers, and I have Control and Bowling for Columbine on DVD, but have not watched them.

My best films of the decade?

24 Hour Party People (nap)
Meet the Parents (nb)

With an honourable mention for the Damned United...
