Crab for taste, Lobster for texture (but some people find it overrated).
Report JUGADOR MEJOR • December 13, 2009 5:14 PM GMT

Crab better than cheap lobster. Decent Lobster different again.
Report positively4thsteet • December 13, 2009 5:16 PM GMT
Big prawns, squid, octopus are all cracking if cooked right.

not so much that lobster is over rated as just too expensive imo.

Honestly octopus is fkin delicious if cooked right. not intocrab personally. some people
rave about raw oysters but i'm not into them except in australia where they put bacon and
cheese on them and grill them = very nice
Report 8sid • December 13, 2009 5:17 PM GMT
all of them very nice

why not go to loch fyne and have the seafood platter

really nice

and then decide what you want properl for your day?
Report 8sid • December 13, 2009 5:17 PM GMT

Report inner city sumo • December 13, 2009 5:19 PM GMT
squid and octopus are easy to mess up so avoid them if it's an important occasion
Report OOTR • December 13, 2009 5:21 PM GMT
Check you're not allergic to the shellfish matey.
Could be nasty :-(

love all seafood except jellied eels and agree with lobster comments.
do not be tempted by cheap lobster so if your not gonna get decent ones leave it off the menu

can get really cheep lobster, five quid i think, in aldis - cooked and frozen. They don't look v. appetizing to me.

Would be great to get fresh seafood straight out the sea and cook it simply and eat it. But not really easy to do if you don't live by the coast - or you pay through the nose for it.

Tesco's are doing seafood selection on the fish counter for 44p for 100g, this is massive value.

When you buy it, ask for the frozen stuff behind the counter, that way you can buy in bulk at this price.
Report Ovalman. • December 13, 2009 5:59 PM GMT
And on a similar vein....

Iceland have 2 frozen crab meat shells for £2 and frozen mussel meat for £1, again this is great value.

Shellfish (especially**les) is my favourite food :-)

I've noticed fresh lobster and crab at my local chinese supermarket, a fish market is also great if you live near one.
