Apparently modern lead free solder is** poor compared to the proper ol fashioned stuff and breaks down easier under heat. Hence the spate of X-boxes and PS3's playing up.
The towel trick can work for a good while but eventually it will end up fecked again.

My mates brothers ps3 died and he followed a guide on Youtube where he had to stick the circuit board in the oven for a bit lol it worked as well so he sold it on Ebay and bought a new one.
