There are rumours circulating in work somethings going to happen in the next few weeks.

What's it like getting that letter/called in to see management?

It's great - you get to be marched out the office in front of all your stunned colleagues who are secretly wondering where the hatchet will fall next.

...unless you're the admin woman called Beverley who faints in the lift after being told she's out...at least she didn't have to walk past a floor full of people gawking at her.

Swearbox. I don't think a £6 p/h call centre job counts!

To be honest veck I was working for Seagate...ten of us got the chop...as I said, we were marched into the boss's office and given the news and then marched out the building. We could go back after the day was done to collect our stuff (supervised of course). They promised to look for 'other positions' within the company but I knew that was a non starter. The thing that made it not so unpleasant was that I walked away with just shy of 60k in vested stock options...which was nice.
